The movie was great, except i didnt understand half of it.
I havent played the game, so i guess its expected to not fully understand it.

So, was the guy at the end dreaming about all this? or were they still stuck in "silent hill land"
wtf was the KKK monster with the buster sword?
who were the people trying to burn the child? Who was the head lady?
wtf was the little melted girl in the bed surrounded by barbed wire killing people (great scene, lol)

It was pretty funny, at the end of the movie you can tell who played the game or understood it from the people that had no clue about silent hill. They were either geeking out or cussing and making jokes about it making no sense.

okay, I just watched this, and I've played silent hill 1-3 (the only good ones)
1) I'm not too sure about the ending but maybe I'm guessing the woman died when she got in the car accident in the begining of the movie, along with the cop. thats why it's always like silent hill even when she leaves the town
2) the KKK monster is called pyramid head and he lives off of people's sins. he was very badass when he skinned the girl
3)the people trying to burn the child was just a religious cult who burned the little girl for being a witch. then the girl made a contract with the devil or whatever and so she creates the whole nightmare (the darkness) in order to take her revenge on people, the headlady was just a bitch and... well.... a head lady
4)the melted girl in the bed was dahlia gillespie, the girl that was burned as a witch. she formed sheryl out of what good was left in her and sent her to the orphanage. and then she got adopted blah blah blah

I've never played the games and I loved the movie, but the end I don't think anyone truly understands exactly what happened, but I think it's just safe to assume they died

well I think its pretty obvious that they died because when her husband was in silent hill, the town wasnt foggy or anything and when that broad crashed everyhting was foggy and the road back disapeared.

Dang it! Everybody keeps talking about this movie. I might just go out and see it.

BTW, for those of you who live in Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, and Ohio, the Kerasotes theater chain has the Five Buck Club™. It's even better than the student discount! I'm saving myself $2.50 per movie. And, NO, I'M NOT A SHILL. Just thought I'd pass on the savings. I know I'm not the only one who hates going to the movies because of the price.

just saw this tonight

one of the better movies based on a video game

ya it's hard to know exactly what happened. i was thinking the same thing about her dying in the car crash...but then again when the detective and the husband found the car, they wearn't in it...strange. it's gotta be something like alternative universes or like GOG said, between heaven and hell

darn good movie though and that skinning part was awesome! i feel like playing the video games again now...time to start downloading!

Revise please. The woman on the bed was Alessa Gillespie. When she was originally burned she made contact with The Dark One (the dark Alessa). Doing this created Sharon (the baby who went to the orphanage and then later got adopted by Rose and Christopher) and the evil Alessa we see wandering around town. The 'last boss' is actually the original Alessa who is now around 40 years old.

Just got back from the movies and I personally thought this movie kicked so much fucking ass.
