Mom Arrested, Teen Sought In Central City Slaying - News


In short: a 17 year old (the one who looks like 50 cent in the picture featured in the vid) in the projects got in a fight, lost the fistfight, and went back to his mom's apartment where she gave him a handgun and told him to get revenge and kill the person who beat him up and all those who cheered him on.

Pretty crazy story. The mom had drugs (coke) in her place when they busted her there (no surprise). The kid turned himself in today to the police.

That "beat me with fists and I'll come back with a gun" is the mindset that scares me. When you can beat a person with fists and the person comes right back w/ a gun or bat like a Joe Pesci character, you just want to stay the fuck out of that area.

you know the funny thing about that video? That is the picture that the mom had of her son @ her apartment FRAMED! LOL...I proposed the thought of me putting on a baggy jersey w/ a baseball cap on, holding the same items, so she could frame it and put it up for people to see...she said, "Don't even joke like that." hahahahahaha she wasn't amused, and seeing as today was her first day doing chem o therapy, I figured it wasn't the mood to push the joke.


I can't fathom the type of family values a person must have to feel that kind of picture of your child is one to boast.

my girlfriend works at an after school program for grade school kids on the east side of town(bad side), about 1/3 of the kids have a parent in prison, 90% of the parents dont speak english, the rest are illiterate. My girlfriend gives the parent a sheet to sign the kid out, the parent doesnt know which grade their kid is in first off(usualy have 5+ kids) and the parent doesnt know how to read the kids name and cant find their kid's name on the list, the kids have to point it out to the parent. And the kids are running around wild stealing other kids property, when my girlfriend punishes them the kids think they have the right to steal whatever they can get their hands on and are suprised/pissed off they get punished for stealing.

well, you gotta think the kids gotta put up with it and hear it so im sure it grows on them too.. you would think after all the problems new orleans has had, they would unite like a goddamn movie and be little more respectful towards each other.. but no. pretty sad indeed.

It's not that I wish to talk bad, I wish something could be done. This is awefull, and the nation should rally to find an acceptable way to end this innequity. The real problems need to be identified, and taken responsibility for and sollutions based on those facts developed. This us against them thing is preventing anything from changing because it creates an atmosphere of contempt breeding contempt on all fronts of the issue. Everybody experiences the same feelings of sad, happy, anger, depression and love. There is no real difference on our insides other than where our ancestors came from and that's all in the past....if you want to shit on today, just put one foot in the past and one foot in the future and squeeeeeeze.

Bull fucking shit. Inequity? My kids will apply for scholarships and will have to hope their grades and test scores are high enough. Whereas our brown friends pretty much get a free ride. Yeah, there's no "us vs them" mentality going on here. I'm just pointing out a dead obvious problem in a specific story that just so happens to be common in the bad areas of New Orleans. You can't argue that. Even the people they interviewed pointed out the law of the street. There is nobody to blame but those with the wrong mindset who aren't changing themselves for the better, and they are the only ones to point the finger at.

As far as a specific group of people having an advantage in society, it is actually whites/non "minority" people who aren't under the umbrella of affirmative action bullshit that are at a disadvantage as far as handouts go. The reason the socio-economic differences are so large and in-your-face is simply b/c of mindset and and values of certain types of people. The ones who don't get in that rut are the ones who just don't have the insane mindset and value sets as the ones you see in the hood. If anyones argues this, they simply have an agenda for the advancement of a certain race or group, usually at the expense of the rest of society.

All I have to say, is that I feel deep sadness when faced with the state of degradation shown by society. The real sadness comes when I realize the apathy there is towards finding sollutions. I guess it all comes down to a society, as well as individuals, wanting to change.
