... and ended up coming home with a dog.

She's a 9 month old lab mix around 40 lbs. She's been going by Dana, which is pretty and all but I've got an aunt named Dana so we're considering possible alternatives. Suggestions?

Oh and I uploaded some pics to my MobileMe, the motion blur is from the awesome iPhone camera.

Adorable! I went to score some weed and ended up with a female Brindle Pit named "Nibbler". Great dog - a little hyper but once I train her to attack my boyfriend on command I'm good.

As far as name suggestions for Dana - how about..........................

Diamonds

Sounds like Dana (sort of) and is still kind of girly.

At least at 9 months, her chewing days may be over. Labs are cool, especially if you have some water around for them to play in. "Dana" doesn't sound like a name that's easy to match with. How attatched is the dawg to that name? you could always 'ease' her into another name if she only responds to the monicker slapped on her..

Petsmart doesn't sell dogs but rather has dogs from local rescue centers there on weekends. At least that's how it is here in Colo.

We're thinking Lucy atm. She's semi-responsive to it already.

As for mix wise whatever it is it's not something big. She's got patchy spots of grey on her toes and a small spot her chest. Heeler or a aust collie maybe?

HA.... I read somewhere that the actual name isn't what they latch onto...its more the tone....or pitch or something like that.... I can't remember where I read that though....but if you go with another name just keep at it and she'll learn.... She is pretty though...
