I would say that unless you have tenure, you're expendable. Too many people go around flaunting job security when they're easily expendable.

You aren't going to lose your job. Your pay will simply be cut to that of the federal minimum wage UNTILL they have a budget and then you will get a back dated pay check for what you would have been paid.

No i might. I am a student assistant (aka temporary worker), meaning that anyone who is part time/retired annuitants

Quote:
The governor's order also would terminate about 22,000 retired annuitants, temporary workers and seasonal employees, as well as impose a hard freeze that blocks the hiring of roughly 1,700 new employees per month

Well, that sucks dude. You're young and without kids right? Probably doesn't limit the impact in your eyes, but not being responsible for anyone but yourself should make this a bit easier.

I'm 23, still living at home, but I still have a my credit card debt and car payment and monthly bills...

And my debt was going down too, begining of the year I owed 4400 or so on one card and 1200 on another, now i owe 120 on that one card (which i can have paid off next month) and now 3400 or so on the 4400 i owed...

You can continue to pay those cards off. I'm basically on unemployment and i'm paying mine off. I don't eat much, but the debt is going to get paid off. consumer credit counciling FTW. Got my interests and late fees waved and some headway is happening.
