The first witness to take the stand was a former intelligence officer who testified from behind a curtain to protect his identity.

Saddam Hussein's half-brother and co-defendant Barzan Ibrahim al-Tikriti cross-examined the witness briefly, then launched into a largely uninterrupted speech for almost 30 minutes, denying any connection to the massacre.

He attended court dressed for a second day in his long underwear to signal his rejection of the court.

I don't get why people use hunger strikes. If people don't want to eat it's their own fault. I have no sympathy for these people. I bet starving children in (Insert 3rd world country) would love some nice food.

Hunger strikes are used as media exploits. The media loves when people do hunger strikes, thus it brings attention to whatever cause it is supposed to. The longer the strike, the larger the media coverage!!

I still love the fact that the Iraq court puts them in giant cribs. I just think its so subtly demeaning and the sick side of me finds hilarity in it as well.
