| Tweak Minion | I am moving tomorrow into a new apartment and, unfortunately, they do not allow rodents. That means that I had to find a home for my adult pet rats in 1 weeks time (we had to move in quick or they were going to sell the last apt. to someone else). The only option around here was to donate them to a pet store where they would be used for snake food. I just couldn't do it... So I released them behind a dumpster where I used to work (a movie theater). I bought them 4 big bags of food and left it in a box with some newspaper for warmth. I figured that at least this way they have a chance at surviving. Being that they are pets and a species of rat called Fancy Rats their survival instincts are most likely not up to par. However, I could not just give them over as food. Did I do the right thing? I know the most humane way would have been to find a caring home for them but the ad on craigslist did not work. I miss the little guys already |

| My E-Penis Is HUGE | Damn those things are cool. Sorry man. Couldn't you of just brought them in without anyone knowing? |
| All I see is a black hole, and sooner or later they’re going to suck each one of us into it. But when they come for me, I'm going to take as many of them with me as I can. | |

| Tweak Minion | Couldn't the pet store try and sell them? |

| Tweak Minion | Petsmart, Pet Club, and a local family place wouldn't take them in at all. I found two places where they would take them but wouldn't try and sell them as pets, only food. I guess I could have snuck them in but my new roommate didn't seem to think it was funny when I joked about doing that. The place is pretty upscale so I figure they would be keeping an eye on the youngest people in the complex without a co-signer or parental guardian. |

| Party? Where? | Man that sucks the big one. Seriously, you should have dumped them in a field or something, how cold is it over there? I think either a cat will get them, or some asshole kids will find them and kill them, either way, I say you should have given them to the pets store for food, probably the most humane way for them to die by natures cause. |

| The Underwriter | You should have released them in the House of Representatives so they could say "All present and accounted for Mrs. Speaker". LOL. Seriously, you probably did the best thing, food+warmth FTW. They'll live a lot longer than you probably think. |

| gallagher is funny. | they'll be fine. however they and you would have been fine if you had just taken them into your apartment. just throw a blanket over the cage when the landlords show up for a visit. inc ase you were wondering, i imagine it to be a rare occurance where the landlord actually comes inside your house. it's your house and you have the right to privacy, so they won't jsut come in un-announced. |

| G-Riot | I have a friend that probably would have taken them, if they could be shipped. My friend has a few of them, and they basically have a kingdom in her room. She's an animal freak, specially rats. |

| Globe Trekker | I would have simply snuck them in. As mentioned above my former landlord NEVER came in my apartment, and if she had I could have simply thrown a blanket over the cage or something. Sucks that you had to let them go. I don't mean to bum you out but they will likely starve or get eaten by a cat. Pets like that don't do well when released into the wild. |

| Tweak Minion | The lease that I signed stated that they could come in at any time, unannounced, so long it is at a reasonable hour. Oh and they already stopped by to see how we were doing with the move and if we had any questions about who to call for utilities and such. But yeah.. I hope they are still alive. I received them as a gift from my parents (I have no idea why) and have never liked the idea of owning an animal that is supposed to be in the wild. So I hope they are happy in the wild even if it isn't for long. |

| King of the Wicker People | I don't know how it works in the states, or the rest of Canada, but here in Saskatchewan, your landlord has to give you 24 hours notice as to when they will be coming in to your apartment. If you had that same law, you could easily have snuck them. Oh well...whatever will be, will be. |

| Vagabond | Ive never heard of a lease like that in Canada. Like B said, they have to give 24 hours notice. Is that type of aggrement common in the States? |
| I'm trying to evolve. | |
