Ummm....pretty much, the whole first quarter was a crisis. One right after another. Now, as for midlife? I don't think so, unless it has something to do with being a twenty-five year old in a 50 year old body. Which, bye the way, is not a good combo.

Say goodbye to our beloved planet. Because there is
alot more money to be made in emitting greenhouse
gasses, than curtailing emissions.

Life is too short to worry about everything.

Think positive and you will have positive results, its the truth, now live it.

well.. if somebody ever wrote something about a "quarter" crisis, this is pop psycho bullcrap.

If it's a way for integra to qualify difficulties experienced by a yound adult in his development phase, it's possible. For many ppl, the passage from adolescence to adult like can be hard

I have had a few things hit me since I left home. The number one thing is that I haven't really gotten to enjoy life like I could have hoped (worked full time since I was 15). I like the money, and I have a ton of stuff, but I really wish I had just a little more free time. Other than that, I haven't really had any major episodes. The wife and I fight on occasion (sometimes pretty violently), and I have many depressing things happen due to the fact that I have so much going on, but life hasn't been too bad.

I'll tell you what, guys... Try to top this as a reason to be depressed... Tonight will be the final night I will post on here for ~3 weeks. Those of you who care know where I'll be, and what I'll be doing I will be secluded from society, technology, my wife, and my hobbies for 3 straight weeks. I will also be living underwater, never getting to see sunlight for the entire 3 weeks. I will get little sleep, eat poor meals (most of the time), and live with no privacy to speak of. But, do I seem depressed because of it? It's a blast getting to hang out with 120 other guys I trust with my life. It's fun playing in war games knowing that noone else (including other American submarines) have a snowball's chance in hell at finding us. It is a blast fighting through long underways, only to celebrate like nothing any of you guys have ever seen when we return. It's definately not a life for everyone, but it DEFINATELY has it's fun times.

This is what Chapel is speaking of. I could drive myself into depression with this job just from the reasons listed above. But, I choose not to. Because of this, I enjoy my job and the people I work with. I say how much it sucks, and how I hate it, but I couldn't EVER see myself doing anything different. It all has to do with your outlook on life.

EDIT: Oh, also... I could retire (making VERY GOOD money) at only 38 years old

Man, don't feel that way. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that it's nice to have you around here at Tweak. And I'm sure you have friends and / or family that would say similar.

That said, I would really try to think possitive and deal with the root causes of your negative feelings. Has there been an event or events that initiated your funk? Any drug use? How's your diet?

You are honestly a good addition to Tweak... I have been through a lot in my life (parents had a tough divorce, living poor, living through a rough marriage, working at a difficult job, having few friends, etc...), and I still feel that I am worth something to society. I still believe that I can benefit somebody, and that drives me from day to day. I still believe that someone will appreciate what I do, and how hard I work. Whether it be a family member (hopefully) or not, I am sure that I can find someone who will at least appreciate my effort.

Just make your life worth something. Make your life benefit others, and get a goal in life. For instance, I just wanted to change the path of one single person. I have had a lot of friends on very bad paths that have changed because of me, and I feel very greatful that I lived long enough to help them. It is amazing what the interaction and assistance of others can do for you. When you base your life on others, your life will become much more rewarding.

as long as i don't let myself focus on the ~$225K in loans I'll have to deal with in 2-1/2 years, i'm good.

Step one: Cut a hole in a box.

Integra,
I can tell you in absulute honesty, I don't know a man who hasn't thought these things at one time or another. I have. It is a fact of life that death / non-existance concern us. Your being too hard on yourself, life sometimes can be a real bitch but in the end we grow and become better people. Oddly enough it is this time of year that relly kicks my ass, better days around the corner,,,,,
