Proposin to girly, need ideas

So I am going to propose to my girlfriend, but I need some ideas on how to do it.

I was going to do it on her birthday, while we were on a picnic, but she figured it out (she is sneaky)

so i need a fool proof plan that is sweet and heartwarming, but not cheesy (no skywriting, or cheesy signs in public)

her birthday is april 28th, and our 1yr 5month is april 10th, which seems like perhaps an ideal time? or I could maybe find out what day I actually met her...thats not a bad idea.

anyway, share your proposal tales, warnings, ideas whatever.

Does she like Chinese food? If she does have a special fortune cookie made up that says will you marry me? and have it at the end of your meal

If you want to put the pressure on her to say yes, do it somewhere public where lots of people are watching. AKA - A sporting event.

I dont need any pressure, we've already talked about it, and we are for certain doin it, but I want the time when i ask to actually be something special.

im 21 shes turnin 20

we dont do a whole lot (not much to do around here) we pretty much hang out, go out and eat, watch movies etc.

we go to galveston alot, so maybe I could do something on the beach?

we are living together. anyway, we know we wanna marry each other. so why not now? there isnt any point in waiting, and its something we want to do.

dude galveston is gorgeous. i love it there. definetly do something along the coast there. even like on one of the streets that is right along the sea wall. sunset (cheesy i know, but yet romantic). don't even pick a special day, that will surprise her more. i dunno, i'm a hopeless romantic so i guess i'm not the best person to ask.

its okay, but I live 5 minutes away from the beach already, so I guess it loses its charm pretty quick.

I like the idea of just choosin a random day.

maybe I will take her out for a picnic on the beach? but shell know something is up as soon as I suggest it.

I can never suprise her really, so I want to do something that she willl have no clue about, until the moment I ask.

In AZ we have these companies who do hot air baloon rides at sunrise and sunset and if she isn't scared of heights you could propose in a hot air baloon at sunset overwatching the ocean or hillsides......

thats just one idea.......
