HOLD UP A SECOND FOLKS

The new Vbulletin we'll be installing offers a much improved image gallery.

Better now than later, I am suspending my work put into the gallery. It works fine but will probably be for the best interest of everyone to not use it for now, and I apologize for any inconveniences it will cause (or has caused), but it'll make the site better for everyone in the long run.

I expect to have the new gallery configured within a few weeks.

The "upload images to posts" feature still works, but this whole message below still applies.

Old message:

Why it's cool and you should use it
You upload a picture and it basically creates a thread so discussion can occur around it.
It also lets users search by username, so you could easily view all of Torx's desktop screenshots (for example).
There are other reasons too, like albums and road trips become very easy to organize without being archived/buried like normal forum messages. If we get enough pictures in there, I can do some pretty trick stuff with coding around it...

What's it do?
It lets you host images (2mb each for regular users, 4mb for Veterans and Elites) and puts them into the forum database like a message.

What other features will be added?
I'll probably integrate it into the front page and make it smoother with the forums. I will be focusing more on this project in a few weeks.

What about the old image gallery?
The old image gallery (for instant photos within posts) will still work. If you want to ever moderate and manage your photos using that system, you should bookmark this address:
http://www.tweak3d.net/forums/vbimghost.php?do=myimages

Since the new plugin is superior in nearly every way, we'll be migrating to the new system. You may want to move over more important pictures or make backups from time to time, because we will no longer support that gallery.

I'm still playing around with it but I need to go to sleep since the sun's been up for a few hours now. I'll work on the other features when I return from hibernation.

is there going to be a way to migrate pix from the "old gallery" to the new system?

Until now, never!before in Earth history, has mass extinction involved a choice.

Unfortunately the software is totally incompatible. The old system still works fine as mentioned, but I don't know if I can create an effective way to migrate the old stuff directly.

Update: I'm also increasing the size of the images all users can upload to make it easier, and I'll fix the inline image uploader that's still using the old software when I get a chance.
