Included are pictures of the 10 day white water canoe trip we started the semester, the 2.5 months of living in yurts, and 9 days in the Grand Canyon.

http://home.comcast.net/~sbpc/Part01.html

It is my first ever website, don't laugh And I didn't really proofread....

Enjoy.

Damn thats cool, may i ask how much did a semester of that cost? You seem to be rich with all these awesome trips you do.

Like other study abroad programs at school, it is just normal college tuition, as if you were on campus.

Looks like an awesome semester. Some of those photos were absolutely gorgeous.

Step one: Cut a hole in a box.

I regret not going to the grand canyon last time I was in vegas, but I doubt we would have survived.... (was 56C out and we didn't have AC)

Pretty cool.

Something I wish I could do, only minus the overall learning theme.

freken amazing. Looked like a lot of fun. is it true when you cut off the chickens head that it still has some feeling in its legs? The Grand Canyon looked amazing. I really need to plan a trip out there. God damn that looked awesome.

It looks like one long boyscout summer camp, very cool.

But I gotta ask, was there any action going on? Being in the wilderness and primal like that with the opposite sex around I KNOW there had to be some people doing the nasty...

I may have to take you up on that. Some of those pix would be great desktop wallpapers, especially the sunrise ones. Thanx for sharing the experience with us.

Funny way to kill those chickens =p. My mom worked on her grandfather's farm as a child and they would hang the chickens on a clothes line upside down and slice their necks. All the blood drains out pretty quickly, then they'd de-gut em and submerge them in hot water to loosen the feathers. Pull all the feathers and your done.

Reminds me a lot of my camping trips with my dad to Isle Royale, exept we only spend a week out there. I love doing that outdoorsy shit and your post has made me extrememly jealous!

how did you have enough battery power during the whole trip? most of the time looks like you were out in the wilderness yet were able to take a ton of pics...

Looks neat though

Didn't you notice the clothes washers and the lights? They were in resupply distance for some things like wall sockets for battery-chargers. That and a decent supply of batteries going in, can get one through a whole summer. I think. Maybe... Besides, those candles had to be coming from a store somewhere.

They do run around headless, sometimes for a while. Well, they mostly flop around and jump in the air while blood squrits out of their head. One was flopping around and ran into someone, getting their pants bloody

That is the way if felt sometimes, made doing the school work hard at times.

Unless you get askin' in about 30 minutes, you will have to wait a week till I get back home.

Yup, she was on it too. She is doing quite fine.

The solar array gave us power for lights, the refrigerator and plugging in little things, and we also had a lodge on the other side of the lake that had both running water and power, amazing stuff!
