The gravestone and the gate are my two favorites. They seem to be a bit underexposed though, but they do have good subject matter. Are you getting all artsy fartsy on us?

It was tough for me to walk into that cemetary, its a small family one from the late 19th century, and yeah... There was one grave that had like a 8 year old in it, but there was brush blocking any shot of it, theres no way im walking over corpses, that gives me the heebie jeebies. You should have seen me tip toe around them like a pussy. I dont want an entire family haunting me.

I was teaching myself at the enlarger. I think the negetives themselves are fine, just i didnt know what i was doing with those early prints.

they look good as for underexposing them, are you using a filter at all? and what's your f/stop? that should help solve the problem. i'll help you out if you need some help. i've been doing photo since the sixth grade.

All i use is a haze filter incase some shit happens. I dont like red filters because its hard to get as deep of a black on dark shots. And as for F-Stop it varies. So I'm no help.

i was talking about filters in the darkroom. red filters work, but try a yellow too on your camera. reds are good for really really clear days. does your lab have a set of filters from 00 to 5? 00 is the least contrast and 5 is the most. 2.5/3 are really good. and again, the f/stop in the dark room. i'm assuming you print these yourself. correct me if i'm wrong......

Oh okay, i figured on my lens.

Anyways its an 8 generally in the darkroom with no filter. I only used a filter on one print (the third one down) and it was a 2.0. Pretty much I run it with an f-stop of 8 for 10 seconds and then make adjustments from there.

hrm, try it with an f/stop of 16 and do test strips at 5 second intervals. and then determine your time. and try it with a 2.5 or a 3 filter to start off with. reasons being: an f/16 will give you teh sharpest picture possible. and then with the filters, you'll notice a difference and it should help you out contrast wise. my prints tend to be very contrasty so i love the 3. let me know if this helps.

Someday, I'd like to get formal training in photog, but for now, I'm just enjoying capturing the perfect wave, the perfect sequence and the beauty of the area that I'm most fortunate to get to live in. Experimenting in composition has been real fun, it's mainly why I got my camera. Hands are getting too shakey to get those telephotos to turn out good, but I'm going to keep trying....the tripod helps. I'd like to see some of your work Brokenheart, sounds like you know your stuff.

they're good.... i mean, considering the fact that i got a 3.3 for my photo class after submitting shitty photos for my final project, these should do very well. i don't know.
