At work, we were getting rid of old pc's, about a 100 of em or so.. I was in charge of the whole thing, from imaging the pc's to having people sign a waiver after picking out their pc/monitor/whatever -- anyways, the thing was supposed to start at 10am, and i was at my desk around 930 when i got a call saying ther ewas a shitload of people over there already. so its an absolute madhouse (none of the people there were white either), and i went into the room where all the pc's were, and the fucking server/computer with images/cisco switch were gone. I was like OMFG. So i kicked everyone out of the room, locked the door behind me, and said no one was getting anything until the server/switch/other pc were returned... So after about 20 minutes, someone finally spoke up, and i got our shit back

Jamsan, that is EXACTLY why we don't give away computer equipment at my work anymore. We did a similar giveaway a few years ago that included just the PC tower and a power cable - no monitor, mouse, keyboard, etc. Party because the used ones I had were filthy from being in the factory and not fit to take home. Anyway, the stupid motherfuckers decided to steal the missing pieces from computers in the factory! Old, shitty, dirty mice, keyboards, and monitors and they were risking their jobs for them. We donate the used equipment to schools and churches now, silly African Americans...

This is in my hometown, thank you. Me and my friends all pooled up some money and paid a teacher from the school where the laptops were coming from to get us some before this big fiasco.
