Pakistani raid on school kills 80

"CHINGAI, Pakistan -- Pakistani troops backed by missile-firing helicopters on Monday struck a religious school purportedly being used as an al-Qaida training center, killing 80 people in what appeared to be the country's deadliest-ever attack against suspected militants."

Of course the response has been protest that those killed were civilians and kids and that there was absolutely no link to al-Qaeda...

Bottom line - mingle your "troops" with civs and they are going to get hurt. Likewise for civs directly providing support to said "troops". It's just not a good idea to blur the battlefield in this way, but naturally America will bare the brunt of the criticism either way.

Oh the outrage, but if Al-Qaeda INTENTIONALLY blows up 200 people, not a word, and of course the US is blamed.

I don't want to kill them, I just want them to stop hating and trying to kill us! As soon as the oil dries up or we pioneer an oil replacement they will go back to being a primitive back water and back to killing each other.

After reading this news report I still feel like I didn't get the whole story. There's always more to this than we know. Of course it's always easy to crack jokes about stuff like this as long as it doesn't happen in your town.

The terrorists want you us alll to hate the middle east. That way they have more recruits. Its very simple. Has anyone here ever even been to a muslim country? 99% of them are the nicest people on earth. In muslim law they have to feed anyone who is starving or hungry as a matter of fact.
If the west ever dropped nukes on iraq or iran or anyother middle easter country the next day there would be ten times as many terrorists willing to fly a one way flight or strap a bomb to their chest.

Somehow I doubt your percentage, and I doubt it would even apply to any particular region on earth. Though it is a nice way to paint the region as a wonderful place where nobody would harm a fly. Also, your last statement has been assumed before, and I see such statements as underestimating the power of a nuke. It's not everyday, even in Muslim countries, where you see several thousand of your people and an entire city or large portion of your city scorched away in an instant. It seems like it would be quite demoralizing when you can lose thousands upon tens of thousands in a moment along with entire cities while your enemy loses none to very few people.

I gather you mean Japan and world war II when you say that my statement has been assumed before. But that was an entirely different situation. The terrorist leaders arent the leaders of the middle east. Their goals arent to protect their people. Their goals are too destroy the infedels of the west and the only way they can do that is by recruiting people from areas where enough hatred exists that people would give their lives to join the cause.
If that hate wasnt fueled by something the terrorists, in turn, would have no fuel to fight their jihad against us.

haha, this is the funniest thing I've read on here. Muslim religion also tells them not to befriend Jews and Christians. I doubt they would feed you if you were Jewish or Christian and starving in their country.

The oil out of Alaska doesn't yield the same amount of product, that's why the 'sweet' crude frome the middle east is so desired....more proffit. I swear the west is more and more like the Ferengi from star trek TNG.

It's not just the oil, it's also the religious nut jobs among others who are fighting over the middle east. Mainly Christians, Jews and Muslims the extremist in all three camps need to be put away in mental institutions where they can be medicated into a coma where they will cause the least harm to everyone on the planet.
