have you thought about how much $$$ it will take to run a successfull SN site?

I don't work for MySpace, but I assume they have multiple servers, each handling specific parts of the code for load balancing. They probably also mirror the site configuration and have a ton of bandwidth to handle the HUGE bandwidth demand.

If you put thought into it and still think you can do it, good luck! I wish I had a software suggestion, but I'm emptyhanded.

the people that open these sites usually code it themselves... Thus, they make adjustments to it accordingly adding new features and reorganizing the site.... that's one of the reasons they're so successful... the person who runs and designs the site uses it too.... untill Fox buys you

I'm actually doing a freelance job right now developing a social networking site.

And no, you can't have the code.
