Sorry to keep bumping this but I just had to...

Delegates needed to win nomination: 125

It will all be over soon, thank god.

The aftermath is going to be felt for years though. Obama is going to be the nominee, and according to polls is going to lose in November. Not to mention the party is pretty heavily splintered by all this fighting. And I think it's going to push back the chances of a woman or a minority becoming president for a long time. So cluster fuck all around.

God I hope McCain loses!!!

He already has so many looming scandals and bush-like plans, I just don't see it actually happening.

I'm not going to cry if either is elected frankly. Both are a HUGE improvement over what we have now. Although I will say that I would prefer McCain ideologically. And after the debacle of the Democratic primary I'm not convinced they have the cohesion or leadership to run the country any better than Bush has. It's like they say, the Republicans are the party of bad ideas, and the Democrats are the party of no ideas.

But yeah, I've got 100 bucks on McCain if anyone would care to take the bet. And what in the fuck is Clinton up to now? She still hasn't conceded the race...?!?

I'd love an economic, small-government type conservative, but you can't find those these days. The "social conservatives" have taken over the conservative base, and I can't stand them, nor McCain for courting them so heavily.

I like Obama better than I did "Do Anything To Get Elected" Clinton, but none of the parties will put forth a candidate I'd actually care to see in the Nation's driver's seat. Though, as MSP said, either is better than the current insane crack-addict chimpanzee with the expired license....

As Goofus said, there are essentially no "real Republicans" anymore, the Goldwater Republicans that is. The stupid thing is that is what people who vote Republicans still think they are voting for!

I think McCain would be a huge mistake for this country, and we will see things go even farther downhill than they already have. I don't think he has any ideals anymore. He changed nearly every position that made him stand out in ordr to fit the current party line, and I just don't think he can stand on his own and make any sort of positive difference.

If it is Obama, I believe it will be a great improvement, but with how messed up things are today even someone like Obama will have trouble cleaning up the Bush mess and getting real change like he promises. Iraq will continue to be a mess no matter who is in charge, and if the Democrats win I believe the Republicans will actually be happy on the Iraq front because they can simply lay the blame on Obama, even though it was Bush who created the mess. I think the economy will continue to slide even under Obama, I doubt health care will get taken care of partly because of the lousy congress, and opposition to Obama will be strong from "conservatives" in large part because he is black.

I think its a tossup on who will win, because I think people are just foolish enough to vote for McCain....

I agree, whoever becomes president will inherit a huge pile of crap but in all fairness some of it is not GWB's fault. Whenever Sen. McCain speaks part of me thinks it's time for him to retire. IMHO I think Obama will not let terrorist run all over us because this is our home and we will kill anyone who threatens us. Will we be attacked in the future? Yes. Will we rollover and die because of this? No.

Iskream's

Gamercard

I was unpleasntly surprised when people voted for Bush for a second term, so I don't have much hope for Obama.

I'm gonna go ahead and take Wika's stance though. It doesn't matter who is in office, they're just puppets anyway. Even if either candidate gets anything done the next wave will spend their entire stay trying to undo it.
