Myspace is fucking gay.

I had Myspace a while ago, then I deleted mine because I kept getting pissed off with it. Didn't have it for a few months, but everyone was bugging me to get it back so I did.

Well I made it, and this morning I go to log in, and it says Invalid friend ID.. and I go to friends accounts, and if you click my picture/link it says my account got deleted.

Myspace is so fucked up I swear, it's not even worth the hassle. Half of the time an "error" pops up, or it never loads, or other shit like that. Tom is a fucking moron who obviously doesn't know shit about servers or networking, maybe if they didn't have so much traffic going through so little bandwidth it wouldn't be a problem.

And there was nothing on my profile to make it get deleted, I had a picture of my car and that was it.

You see, the root of every myspace problem lies with Bill, and not Tom. Myspace uses IIS if I'm not mistaken. They really should have thought to use a real OS on their servers before they hit it big.

I hate IIS with a passion. My site used to be hosted on 1and1's Linux hosting. I had root access, was able to run anything to my heart's desire, loved it. Well, 1and1 wasn't really thrilled about me running a torrent website, so the dropped my sorry ass.

So, my partner out in the Netherlands found some hosting out there. The site's description looked perfect: we had tons of storage, could use php/sql freely (something 1and1's MS hosting couldn't do), and a lot of other stuff that we'd probably never use. I just overlooked that fact that it was running IIS...

One thing I forgot was that our site's code was written to be run on a *NIX server. A good part of it needed rewriting. Our coder fixed what he could, but there were some major lines that depended on having *NIX hosting. As it was, the code was savagly raping our SQL databases thanks to wonderful IIS running the script wrong. We had to switch to a whole new torrent tracking software (which also needed a little tweaking).

So much work that we wouldn't have needed if we were back on Loonix w/ 1and1. :\
