Deja Vu?

















Not really, same plan as before, but this time the Director of Education is going to "push me onto" some of the higher ups for an internship. Last time I was in it, we got a couple rockets stuck in the tree. I remember my dad had a "Hot Stick" (see link below), so I offered it to the Academy to give to the rocket club as a way of saying thanks. Well, when I gave it to the Director, he said "We'll have to come up with a way to say thanks to you." I just brushed it off, as I really wasn't expecting anything in return. Next thing I know, he is telling me he'll put me in another academy and push me on to JD for an internship . of course I didn't turn that down. Difference this time is that They are putting me in a hotel ON the beach. This is right next to the Ron Jon of Coco Beach. Anyways, Ill talk to you all this friday and let you know how it went.

Its not an internship, more of a program. We spend 5 days working on a project (weather balloon with a camera/gps payload) for half of the day, and the other half touring the KSC trying to get us interested in the space program. At the end of the week, we have a panel discussion with several big wigs from the area. I was fortunate enough to be recognized by one of the guys (Director of Lockheed Martin for the East Coast IIRC) because of the last program. I talked to him about what I am interested in doing, and he said he is looking for some "mentorees" in that field. You can check out the *your state* space grant consortium for more information. If anyone would like more info and live or attend school in Florida, I can get you more information. You don't have to be an engineering major, this week we had a Political Science major, meteorology major, and a couple of Biology Majors.

You have to be an undergraduate in a Florida school, thats it. You don't have to be in an engineering/science major. We had a girl who was a political science major. Last one I did we had a "Space Technician" IIRC.
