| infinite resolution | So yep, pictures from driving across the country again. Not very interesting picture-wise, I was focusing on driving this time... Just about 58 hours, or, two days 10 hours to cross the country! Here is the route, starting in Canton, NY (school) south to I90, then I90 all the way to Seattle, WA. ![]() So yah, you can see how far I went without stopping, all the way to Montana. ![]() Packing up the dorm room, that took a while, but not as long as I expected it would. ![]() One full car. ![]() And the back. Every space was filled, I was a bit surprised I was able to fit everything. Seats folded down, front to back, side to side, top to bottom, packed. And yah, a lot of it was computer and stereo gear ![]() Bye house, bye St. Lawrence University. ![]() Bye Emily ![]() There goes New York State. ![]() Fricken toll booths... at least this is a cheap one, I probably spent a total of $25 or so on I90. No tolls out west.... ![]() Somewhere around Chicago I began to feel like I was going to puke, so I kept a bag in my lap ![]() Then at like 2:30AM, my drivers side windshield wiper broke and I had to pull over on the side of the freeway in the rain to change it for the passenger side, which was still good. Drove with just one for a few hours... ![]() Starting to look tired? Probably 20 hours straight at this point. ![]() Mmmm! Breakfast! I didn't eat much the whole time actually... ![]() Crossing the Mississippi River. ![]() Somewhere in Minnesota. My car was acting up, feeling loose and wobbly. Pulled in to a little town and took it to a place, he said he couldn't really do anything, sold me some new wiper blades, and sent me to a bigger town. The other place put it up on the jack and couldn't see anything wrong with it, but the tire pressure was off on one wheel which they fixed, and the problem seemed to go away. Still a little confused about the whole thing... but I'm probably going to take my car in for a tune-up soon... ![]() Looking back at the east. See ya. ![]() Ah, 90 West, I saw these signs for nearly 3000 miles... South Dakota, boring as hell. I refused to stop at Wall Drug. ![]() The sunset in Wyoming. ![]() Some small town in Montana, when I finally decided to go to sleep. This was after 2067 miles, 37 hours straight of driving. I took a shower, and couldn't sleep very well, got about 4 hours total, which was all I slept all the way across the country. ![]() Ah, Montana, starting to see some real mountains. And trains, I like trains. ![]() Getting to the home stretch. ![]() Ah, Washington mountains. ![]() For the last hour of the drive, this was my sworn enemy, "540." From the pass into town, we were racing of sorts, along with Silver Forester, and Gold Caddy. It was a lot of fun, in the end, Gold Caddy beat me, but I beat 540 and Forester. ![]() Finally made it to Seattle! ![]() Called home, and most of the family was over at my aunt and uncles place with my grandmother for dinner, so I went there before heading home to eat. ![]() Total milage for the trip. All in all, it was a lot of fun. Not easy to do, and I don't really recommend trying it, but it is certainly an experience. And I love getting the chance to see so much of our country, it really is an amazing place. |
