My sister told me when I got home from work today that my hamster, "Harvery (the wonder hamster)" is dying...

hes all curled up and wont hardly breathe. It looks like he has some kinda green fluid comin out of his mouth, so My guess is he has pneumonia or some kind of hamster equivalent, and iin his old age (around 2 years) he cant fend it off. I'm kinda bummed, I mean he is just a hamster, but to see that poor little guy suffering like that it kinda hurts. I cant stand to be near my little fuzzy friend while he is like that...even though it means I won't be able to be with him when he passes on.

I guess I will just have to get a new one...but it just wont be the same as ole harvey. moral of this story: if you dont like seeing cute and cuddly pets in anguish, dont buy short lived animals. stick with dogs and cats, or maybe turtles

why don't you take him to the vet? at the very least he'll be euthanized and not have to suffer.

because round here the vet pretty much closes down whenever they feel (like 2 or 3 most days) they stay on call for people with larger problems, liek sick horses or cows or whatever. damn small towns.

My hamster Ralph lived past 3 years, though not much longer. What kind of hamster is he?

(Ralph was a dwarf hamster)

Maybe I'm cold hearted, but I was ok with the fact that my hamster had died. He was getting to be no fun just eating and shitting all day. We found him on his back one day, with his little legs sticking in the air. We buried him in a coffee can in our back yard. I guess my dad and I are a bunch of heartless bastards.

I'd feel pretty sad too. I have a dog right now thats about 13 years old. Shes a shitzu chiwawa (sp)

I will feel bad the day she dies, but her mom lived to be 21 I believe (she was a full shitzu) she was blind, and toothless at that age but she had help with her from the other dogs.

Lmao

If you don't want to see him suffer just take him outside grab him by the tail and hit him against the pavement, thats what my cousin did to his pet hampster when it stopped walking

All I see is a black hole, and sooner or later they’re going to suck each one of us into it. But when they come for me, I'm going to take as many of them with me as I can.

That's just wrong. I'd rather see it die naturally than having it get the shit knocked out of it.

thats very sad news man, i feel ya.. hard to overcome such little innocent buggers dying like that.

gerbils/hamsters live longer in pairs. So if your gonna buy another one, get another one to keep him happy.

i had a pair of gerbils (ren and stimpy), they fought off and on, but they played after a while and slept together, kept each other company when i wasnt around.
RIP ren and stimpy
