[Mr. Ali]

I was in my first car accident last night at midnight. I was driving alone and I am not hurt. The people in the other car (3 high school kids coming from homecoming) that were AT FAULT were not hurt.
here is sorta what happened (using google earth + paint)

I am in the blue car on the left hand lane on a two lane road minding my own business going about 50 or so. the car that hit me is in red:


The red car comes out of the parking lot and he goes into the right lane:


all of a fucking sudden, right after he exits the parking lot, he starts moving over to my lane. at this point i see this and im like fuck fuck fuck, i cant really go any further left because its just a curb next to me, but i do anyway as he hits me. he hit me pretty hard because of how sharp of a turn he was making while merging into my lane.


at this point, my car is half on a curb and half way blocking the left lane of the street, so no one can use the left lane now. my airbags did go off, im still not sure if it was because of his car hitting me or me hitting all the damn posts/sights that i knocked down (small 2" by 2" wood posts) that set off the airbags.


long story:
so now im sitting in my car with my airbag deployed and my car still on. i take off my seatbelt, get out, take out my cell phone and dial 911. i yell over to the other car while its ringing and find out if anyone in the other car was hurt, they weren't . when i got off the line with 911, i went to my car and turned the engine off and turned on the emergency blinkers/lights. there was a lot of smoke in my car because of the airbag and quite a bit of fluid (oil/tranny fluid?) coming out of my car. i didn't really want to talk to the other party involved until the police showed up, so i just sat down. someone that was in the parking lot the other car came out of heard the accident and came over, he didn't see it unfortunately, but he said that he saw one of the kids in the other car take out a huge bottle of alcohol and stash it in some bushes. at this point im like wtf?!?! and a minute later this SUV filled with other high school kids come and leave about 30seconds later. after the SUV leaves the same guy told me about the booze bottle said that one of the kids in the car left with the people in the SUV.
this means a few things:
1. the person driving was drunk and didn't want to get caught and left (probably not)
2. he wasn't the one driving but didn't want to get in trouble for drinking and being underage. (probably what it was)
a little bit later the police show up and the guy that heard the accident found the bottle of alcohol in the bushes and gave it to the police.
The officer askes us what happened and i start telling him what i saw and the other driver said, wait no, thats not what happened and wanted to tell his side of the story. at this point any idiot could tell it was his fault so i said fine and walked off so he can talk to the officer. The officer comes back to me and tells me that he is at fault, he doesn't have his license on him or any insurance papers. the officer called his lie and pretty much put the guy in his place (the officer was pretty much yelling at him). he even told me that the driver is going to get his license revoked, SCORE! We had to wait for the drivers (17yr old) mom to come with the insurance papers.
my car is now at some tow place, ill stop by tomorrow and take pics. i also need to get a rental car tomorrow.
oh the joys of getting into an accident and all the god damn shit you need to take care of because of some stupid shit high school kids.
anyway, thats my really horribly written story but i thought i should share.

Well, I'm glad to hear that you're ok, and also that those drunken idiots got what they deserved. I really have no respect for anyone who gets behind the wheel of a car while drunk. And the fact that they had an open container that they tried to stash is just fucking incredible,

Yeah i got pulled over awhile ago and didnt have it, thank god he let me go.

And im glad youre okay. Hope that kid's parents teach him a lesson after they pay for your car.

haha, funny but i wasnt rear ended. if you look at the 3rd picture, he hit my passenger side door.

after an accident ur car never feels the same. what sucks is insurance companies are so damn jewish when there paying for shit they never try and compensate you fully, so even if its not ur fault u end up getting screwed because your car is never the same as it was.

My Protégé has been rear ended twice, and I've had a very subtle knock back there ever since. We think it's a strut which is scheduled to be replaced in about 1200 miles, so we'll see.

And I had a speaker damaged in one of the accidents and couldn't get insurance to cover it. I even had an electrical engineer prepared to explain how the speaker had been damaged internally and they still said "no". I paid for a replacement out of my pocket, and when my agent called a few months later to schedule a meeting to discuss my insurance needs I told her "I don't have any additional needs right now, and if I did I wouldn't discuss them with you. The only reason you have my business is that my wife is resistant to change, but I'm actively working on that...." She was speechless, but fuck her. That 25 dollar speaker cost that bitch plenty.

My ex gf had her car parked in the school parking lot when some guy had a seizure or something, drove straight into her car, pushed it into 3 other cars, pushed them out of the way and then pushed her car into a ditch before he finally stopped. Insurance STILL didn't pay the full value of the car even tho it was less than 6 months old + it took them another 6 months just to finally cut them a check. I don't know why so many states require you to have insurance when they won't fucking do anything.

If it makes you feel better, the largest pot hole in so-cali was hidden underwater today and I went right into it and blew out 2 tires and failed a german test due to it.
