Michael Moore Hates America
(edit, the title got cut off)

Anyone watch this film? I watched it last night. Its pretty good, has penn of penn and teller in it. The guy throughout the movie is trying to get an interview with michael moore. He pretty much just exposes some of michael moores "ways" of manipulating people's speeches so that he can make them say what he wanted. If you havn't watched it, and you watched any of michael moore films, I'd say you should watch it.

I hate Moore, and not because of my conservative slant. I hate him because he is a little weasle, badmouths America, and is always trying to cram his adgenda / views on others. I'd like to line him, Jennine Garofalo, Rosie O'Donnell, and the founder of PETA up and piss on their heads.

yes, that is pretty much what this movie says about him. He cut/pasted film together to make it look like Chuck Heston was saying "they'll pry my gun from my cold dead hands" right after bowling for columbine, when it actually happened almost a year later. I'd suggest everyone watch it. He brings up some very good points with a far less skewed view then michael moore.

Nah, Team America may have a grudge against them but I don't have an opinion.

Jennine Garofalo pissed me off on the Daily Show when she was rude and kept interupting the host and hijacking the interview to spout her rhetoric. And Rosie O'Donnell pissed me off when she lambasted Tom Selleck on her show because he supports the NRA. And Michael Moore and the PETA bitch just go without saying...

i dont know about that... it is somewhat biased, but he does a real good job of balancing it out. he talks to most of the people in MM's movie. He also interviews supporters of MM. I steer clear of almost all documentaries and movies in general, and normally wouldn't post something, but I thought this was a pretty good movie from the opposite side of michael moore.

Everybody hates America because we are powerful and have influence over many. I guess I would hate us too, but as it is I am an American. I'm proud of my country and don't mind so much that we flex our collective muscle from time to time. Every empire on Earth has been hated, but you know what? Ruling is a lot better than being ruled.

That being said. I would consider myself a liberal, but nowhere near the point of Moore.

I have noticed lately(though I doubt its new) that people and orginizations just seem way too sided. It seems that no one who voices their opinion is in the "center" anymore.

Today I got something from some Democrat orginization saying that "We need to crush Arnold", it didn't state any facts but was just "he's not on the extreme left so kick his ass out". I beleive that Arnold is way better than Davis ever was, not becouse he's a Replublican or becouse Davis was a Democrat, but becouse he was in Predator(not Predator 2). I think Carl Weathers should run for president.

On a serious note, most politicians suck, and none really care that much about the American citizen.

Moore does not necessarily badmouth america, he simply points out problems that this country has, using satire as his medium. He points out what the US does wrong in a much more entertaining manner than the major news media outlets.

Also, along with pointing out what problems are occuring in the US, he does something about it. In Bowling for Columbine, he helps the kids that survived the shootings by taking them to K-Mart to get them to take the bullets off the shelves, which actually helps the country. Im not sure how many times O'Reilly, Limbaugh, or any of the other conservative media personalities have actually gone out, personally, and helped people, or even tried to help people.

If anyone has ever seen his short-lived television show, The Awful Truth, you would know that Moore actually gets personaly invovled to help people out when they get screwed over by big corporations, the government, or special interest groups.

Seeing as how you previously said that you were conservative, I do not think that this is a valid reason why you should hate Moore. I do not find his agenda being forced upon anyone else. I take more offense to conservatives and democrats for speaking like this. For example, many of the moves that the Bush administration has made and is proposing to make are way more forceful than Moore. Similarly, O'reilly and the rest of the conservative media are more arrogant and more outspoken than Moore is and they do more to propagate the negative image of the US as stubborn, arrogant, and ignorant than any other people in the US.

Eventhough my previous post may suggest otherwise, I do like America, its a great country, but, it falls to the same fate as communism. Great in theory, bad in practice. This is supposed to be a democracy, it clearly is not a good form of democracy, elections constantly do not go smoothly and there is corruption at every level. I do not have time to give a lot of examples, but they're there and not hard to find.

I would say that i disagree with what the government does and what it stands for. The people of this country are great, maybe slightly mislead sometimes, namely by television and other major media, but they are caring people at heart. Its just too bad it takes major national disasters for that to show.

Mainly i would like to point to this quote by mushu, "the bushies" did not destroy Chirac or Villepin, last time i checked france was still doing fine. Their economy may even be doing better than that of the US. Im really not bothering to look it up. All i know is that "the bushies" have had little to no effect on France. Plus, if they hate the US so much, why would they care about how the US views them? They wouldn't.

You'd probably say they need the US, well that is true, but the US needs France too. France is a major trading partner with the US, as is every other nation in the G8. Basically you have no basis for your point, France is not destroyed and neither is Iraq actually, its in the same state the US left it 13 or so years ago after Operation Desert Storm, a giant mess.

While in Europe MM made a joke at the expense of the 9/11 airline victims, saying that if they were black people, the terrorists would have not been able to hijack the planes. Filth.

That is THE most retarted thing i have ever heard. What would actually have been better is to teach kids HOW to deal with their problems and TEACH them gun saftey. Its all about knowledge. Most people are scared of guns because they dont know enough about them. People are scared their first time flying because they dont know what to expect. Once you are comfortable and careful with a gun, you have nothing to worry about. In the entire lenth of time the automatic weapons ban was in effect, only ONE legal automatic weapon was used in a crime, and he was a POLICE OFFICER. People like michael moore have fill people with fear. iirc, something like .04% (thats four 100ths of one percent) of guns are ever used in a crime. and besides.....

You are wrong yet again... the government is NOT corrupt at every level. What people need to do is get involved with their local goverment. If you have had any sort of leadership/business experience, you will know how the chain of command works. I can give you some examples if you do not know how it works, but basicly politicans have to please the people who the represent or they will not get reelected. What happens is the media focuses on the minority, thus making the minority look like the majority. Your "corruption" is actually tradeoffs they make. Take any national goverment class and learn about the "you scratch my back, ill scratch your back" way of doing things. America may succomb to the same fate as communism, but democracy is, nor will it ever be dead. I have actually caught flack from people for having a welding helmet that had eagles and an american flag on it. why? because being patriotic is only for the rednecks

this goverment stands for the people. the problem is people not backing the government. Having a different opinion about what the president should be doing is ok, but when people still go on about how kerry should have won, or al gore should have won, makes us look weak to the rest of the world. there is no question that bush won this time, he had over 50% of the population voting for him, and people are still bitching.

Iraq is not the same as it was after desert storm, it is FAR BETTER. were women in school after desert storm? how was the nation improving any? you cannot rebuild a country over night, especially with some of the nutcases over there fighting against you. some people say that we only went to iraq because of the oil.... yet still bitch about the high prices. we are paying.

Bush's agenda is going to be forced onto people, he is the president you jackass. what the hell else is he going to do? Yes, americans may be arrorant, but look at what america has done in its short history so far. A bunch of rednecks defeated great britan, france, and the indians, and we did it with out the crazy nutjobs who blow them selfs up to make a point.

You guys should also watch or rent Penn and Teller's Bullshit. It's there show on Showtime.

It's slanted towards the conservative side, but each episode is fully backed by straight facts from credited experts.

Anyways, I'm a conservative, but a fairly liberal one at that. But when it comes to people like Michael Moore, I cant help but think that all of the Anti-Bush, anti progress communists in this country need to pull their heads out of their asses and realize that they aren't robbin hood. They aren't stealing from the Evil King to give to the poor. They're weakening our country while halting progress to protect their freedoms which were never infringed upon, so they can take money earned by hard working people to give to crack heads and other junkies.

The liberal-extremists bandwagon needs to crash and burn.

Bingo. I could dig up more instances where he's been overseas and lambasted us. Not the administration or the government, the people and the nation. He's a slimeball and a traitor.

Ooh, looks like Cartman hit a nerve there Anyway, as much fun as it can be to criticize the US in some way, however minor, then stand back and watch the flaming commence, I'll just say that every single country on this planet, including the US, has it's own problems. Pretending otherwise is just stupid. Try not to be so damn touchy.
