Mistawiskas road trip posts inspired me so I drove the Pacific Coast Highway from Newport Beach to Malibu, check it out...

Sun rise over Carl's Jr in Anaheim...

Newport Beach...

The water temps were in the 50s, these surfers are nuts...

Serving coctails at 6am? My kinda place...

Some sections of the Pacific Coast Highway are nice...

...others are not...

Nice...

Malibu. Very nice! "Stay out of Malibu Lebowski!!!"

Paradise Cove, a local hangout for the Malibu rich. They were drinking at 10am...

Even my ride was inspired by Wiskas - a Ponitiac G6...

I had some spare time today I wasn't counting on, so I headed down to Disney...

This Lego Darth was quite scary!

My hotel, the Wydham Anaheim. Lots of statues, kinda creepy at night...

I miss California so much... I can't wait to get back there Saturday night.

Step one: Cut a hole in a box.

The Coast Highway is very nice, I've driven from Seattle to San Fran twice on it.

The best part is that other than a few meals the entire thing was paid for by the company. I've been here since Saturday morning and worked a total of 12 hours.

I just love the pacific. I can't imagine living anywhere else. The southland isn't bad as long as I don't have to live there. Avalon, Catalina is my personal favorite. After watching a show about the danger of the North Cali to Seattle having a mega tsunami on the Natl. Geographic Channel,
I'm a little paranoid of being on the coast now. It would seem that there's a fault line even bigger than the one in the Indian Ocean that caused the horrendous tsunami last year. When I lived up in Seaside, Or. we used to have tsunami drills in school....just like fire drills. The whole time I lived there, there was only one evac of the town. The alarm was three three minute blasts of the air raid sirens.

Say goodbye to our beloved planet. Because there is
alot more money to be made in emitting greenhouse
gasses, than curtailing emissions.

Get out of the box, then recycle it.

If I had been farther north I would have PMd and tried to get together. I know you're not a drinker anymore but I'd love to sit down and chat.

A lot of my pre-conceptions of California have been blown away. Most everybody I've met have been really nice, and it's not that crowded. In fact the traffic so far has been on par with Cincinnati. I leave in the morning and I'm a little sad...

I looked into scuba diving, but a lot of the operators were closed for the season. And surfing lessons were like $325 without equipment rental. I never got into the ocean...

That might have been your problem.

It is a shit hole, I've been through much of Cali though, all the way north, to almost all the way south. Very nice state for the most part. San Fran is a great city.

I didn't care for LA that much, but I tried to stay in the surrounding areas and out of it. I didn't see Hollywood for example, or Venice Beach. From what I saw of LA it just seemed like strip malls and little houses as far as the eye could see.
