The VP debates are sure going to be interesting.

So Obama picks a VP who blasted his experience, McCain blasts Obama for no experience then picks a VP who has little experience...holy fuck this shit is retarded.

I know some of you thought that this may steal hillary voters, but it may also push away mccain votes. I wouldnt want an unexperienced woman next in line, especially when the top dog is like 78 years old.

Those who were voting for her because she's a woman will jump to McCain. I would hope those who pay attention to the issues will stay in Obama's camp. Palin is crazy conservative up to and including teaching creationism in school. She's definitely not the same woman that Hillary is.

I hope not. I hope Biden makes her look foolish.

If heaven forbid Obama gets knocked off I have faith in Biden being able to run the country. However, when McCain dies in office, I have my doubts about a first term governor from a low population state that practically lives off the federal government's teat.

Let's be honest here - nobody on either ticket has ever had experience being the president of the United States. All have had experience in government and management, and McCain and Biden have extensive foreign affairs experience. So in the experience collumn I would actually give the nob to McCain/Palin as she's been the governor of a state and not just a freshman senator. Being governor requires leadership and management skills, a senator just has to be popular and show up to vote on things once in a while. EDIT: Unless of course the senator is head of an important committee, which Obama wasn't.

More on this from Ed Rollins:

She is blunt, outspoken and charming. And don't assume she can't stand toe-to-toe with Joe Biden. She is a great debater. And she was runner-up for the Miss Alaska title, won Miss Congeniality in that contest, and plays the flute.

Really, you're dismissing Obama's experience in shaping policy and pushing reform because he was a freshman senator? Not to mention the fact that she's been a governor for all of a year now and before that was a city council member. I think that Obama's 3 years in the Senate at our Federal seat of power plus his 7 years in the Illinois Senate give him more political experience.

Yeah, I forgot about his service in the Illinois senate. So I'll give you that one. Although I would imagine a year as governor of a state is probably worth 4-5 years as a senator. But Obama was a Black Panther and in the Mujahideen so ultimately I think you're right.

As Jimmy Carter has told folks, the Senate and the White House are worlds of difference, and experience in one doesn't help with the other much, if at all.

Experience if overrated anyway. Herbert Hoover was experienced, and he led us into the great depression, as his experience acted as blinders to keep him from seeing alarming trends (as happens with all bubble situations)

Well...if McCain gets in, she's definitely impeachment material. "I did not have sexual relations with my VP. I just simply told her to speak in the mic a little more."

Wow, this is a weird VP pick. Does McCain have Democrat operatives in his campaign making these decisions? This is quite stunning to behold.

While I (and 99% of Americans) know very little (or nothing) about her, what I've heard so far makes her sound like a better Republican than most. Sure she is hardcore social conservative, but it does seem like she has done a fair bit in a rather short period of time cleaning up Alaska politics. Interesting choice.

I don't care who he chose as a running mate. It doesn't change the fact that McCain is a blundering idiot that reminds me so much of Bush Jr. that I absolutely hate him.
