Lottery winner Luke Pittard goes back to work... at McDonald's
Quote:
Lottery winner Luke Pittard has swapped slow living for fast food and gone back to work at McDonald's.

The 25-year-old had been taken it easy since scooping £1.3m and quitting his job at the burger chain nearly two years ago.

But after getting bored with life on the edge of the sofa he has gone back to his old job as a staff trainer.

Father-of-three Luke earns £5.85 an hour and is up at the crack of dawn to get to work for his early shift at the Cardiff restaurant.

Advertisement"To be honest, there's only so much relaxing you can do. I'm only young and a bit of hard work never did anyone any harm," he told the BBC website.
When I worked at the BK Lounge two years ago I couldn't wait to quit and move on to being a lifeguard. I can't imagine why anyone ever would want to smell like french fries all night and day.

You'd think with that money money in the bank he could have thought of something better to do.

He wants to work there so he can look at every person who walks in the door to order and, even though he is serving them, he knows he is much richer than they ever will be.

Honestly, if I won the lottery, I probably would take some time off but then eventually go back to working at Starbucks. I love the company, people, atmosphere, etc.. Weird, I know.

Shut your mouth and think it out.

I guess certain people lose that feeling of accomplishment when you loaf around and spend money. I would still work if I won a lottery, just not under anybody. Start your own business, be your own boss, type of thing.

Father of three at twenty five. I bet he just wanted an excuse to get out of the house.

I'm trying to evolve.

I'd get a fun job, or more likely a series of fun jobs. You'd have the freedom to do whatever job sounded fun regardless of salary, and could move on at any time. Six months at Starbucks, six months at a State Park, six months working a dive boat in the Caribbean, etc. I definitely wouldn't retire, in the classic sense. My financial plan is to have that level of freedom before the age of 55, and I'm on target to hit or exceed it.

Even when I was younger I couldn't have stood unemployment long. I haven't been unemployed one day since I was 15! And really before that I had jobs too, mowing lawns, etc. If I had deep enough pockets to do whatever I wanted I suppose I could handle it, otherwise unemployment would bore the hell out of me.

Oh, i generally kept busy doing work around the house and learning to play drums. I actually watched less TV during my unemployment. Theres endless shit to do around my house work wise. Especially in the spring.

Like open his own Mcdonalds?

All I see is a black hole, and sooner or later they’re going to suck each one of us into it. But when they come for me, I'm going to take as many of them with me as I can.

Hell, if I were independently wealthy I'd go somewhere overseas and get a menial job, just for the experience. Driving a cab or something.

I couldn't live without doing someything. No challenge, no accomplishments, nothing to bitch about....it'd drive me batshit crazy. I'd probably start my own company though.
