I'm curious, if someone came up with a great idea, comparable to the creation of the original blog or first forum technology or something of that nature. Lets say you we're 90% sure this idea would take off in a big way. What would you be willing to invest out of your own pocket to be a partial owner?

It depends on the scope of the probable earnings. On investing, I have to look at rate of return/risk, how many dollars come in per hundred spent and how fast the rollover is. A thousand isn't anything to invest if it's got alot of potential, a person could generate a grand in no time....if they can really benefit from doing so. You can survive on top ramen when the need exsists. Any decent return is going to take >$1000.

Say goodbye to our beloved planet. Because there is
alot more money to be made in emitting greenhouse
gasses, than curtailing emissions.

Get out of the box, then recycle it.

Agreed, The phrase "The rich gets richer" is true simply because they can afford to risk more.

another website? Or something original?

All I see is a black hole, and sooner or later they’re going to suck each one of us into it. But when they come for me, I'm going to take as many of them with me as I can.

I'd have to see that person's business plan first. I'd specifically look at partitioning of funds. If it looks like a follow able, sound plan I'd devote the specific amount listed in the plan under the most logical part.

For example, if a person wanted to start up a record studio, I'd fund him enough money to pay the artist for 2 cd's worth of songs or so if the owner had a good plan of paying the artist.

More than 90% chance of success? I'd invest pretty heavily. Jah knows the market hasn't been worth a shit for a few years. I wouldn't go all-in, but tens of thousands for sure.

anyone would... you'd be stupid not to... which is kind of the point, how often does something come up with a 90% chance of huge soaring profits and success?

Its an impossibility to come up with a completely new and unique idea and predict a 90% chance of success, there’s just to much to factor in for that to be possible. Unless you just developed a side-effect free instant solution to war/disease/famine/death your dreaming...by a long shot.

I'm a business econ major. I own my own business so i am putting my drive to good work. I have countless ideas running through my head every day and i've have prob about 20 real good ideas this year. I've only moved forward on 2-3 of them. I just dont have the time. My biz keeps me to busy

The reason i made this poll is because i got one of my ideas. I'm working out the details of the coding/planning with my team. Later this week i'll post whats up. I'm really paranoid right now about it. lol. I think this could really go somewhere so i'll let a couple of you guys get in on it if you like. My biggest road block is always advertising dollars.

What kind of business do you own? It has to be legit you know, people on payroll, you claiming it as an income etc.
