I know nothing about hawaii and I'm hoping that those of you that have gone can give me some tips/ideas.

Its going to be for my anniversary and it will only be for a week. I don't care about night club or entertainment stuff like that, I'm more into seeing the island itself, ie volcanos, waterfalls, beaches, hiking/bike riding.


Let me know what you recommend and what price range I should be expecting.

I wouldn't goto hawaii for the night clubs at all lol, fuck that shit. I'd be there to see the ocean, beaches, volcanoes, wwII museums and some of the downtown area.

Those things in itself will be more than enough to keep you busy for a week.

Your interests are as mine. The only touristy thing I'd do is maybe the
submarine tour and the helicopter tour of Kīlauea. If I were to go, I'd find a
way to see the real island life and scenery.

If you're going for quiet and nature I would recommend Maui or Kauai. I spent a week on Maui and thought it was the perfect blend, but Kauai is less developed and more natural.

The big Island is where its at.

I spent some time in the Islands, the north shore of Oahu is great for surfing and living in hippie culture full of white people, but Oahu is good for little else. But if you want to see real Hawaii go the actual Hawaii Island. Hilo is a wicked city.

Im not sure what kind of costs you would expect, I always travel on a shoe string and in Hawaii slept on the beach or in hostels.

Any of the Islands except Oahu actually. You will have a great time.

I love Oahu. I went there 2 years ago and I didn't want to leave. The nightlife is great. The view was worth the flight. You know what would be really cool? If you went skydiving! Sky diving above an island must be badass.

Oahu was OK, but was a little frantic and full of people for my taste. Like Cancun's hotel zone, only a little classier.

Be sure to look out for The Dog while you're there too.
