Little web site thing

I'm trying to build my band's web page and I'm not sure how to do this:

I want to put links in the upper frame of the page. I did all that with the freakin hot spots and whatever in frontpage. Anyway, when I click one of those links, I want a little window to open on the page that isn't a brand new window, but a little cool miniwindow sort of thing. This way it doesn't redirect you or anything like that and all the information is on one page.

Also, just cuz i'm curious, how would you make something like the Deftones' web site http://www.deftones.com

Yea, i'm stupid at this.

The deftones is all flash, which is nothing like html.

And to open in a new window you use Javascript. Which is a whole nother language.

I dont remember the code for the window either. Pretty much you'd need to know HTML, CSS and Javascript for what youre looking for.

Okay, maybe you dont need java.
