What good is the Earth? Try this: If we can't go on, something will carry on. what ever happened to survival of the species? This has been the number one instinct for all life with the exception of mankind. If mankind cannot indulge in capitalism, materialism
and selfish pursuits, then it's not worth the planet surviving? You just made a point in that one sentence. It's not just the statement you made, there seems to be an underlying attitude that reflects what you said throughout the developed world. What is gained when mankind develops to the point that his developement is more important than the environment he lives in? In my opinion, the only thing gained is a self perpetuating form of stupidity. What good is any form of endeavor, when you loose the place to do it in?

Say goodbye to our beloved planet. Because there is
alot more money to be made in emitting greenhouse
gasses, than curtailing emissions.

Get out of the box, then recycle it.

No Earth no Life period. lol

Sometimes I get the feeling people think we are superior beings who have evolved and separated from the Earth. If that's the case why do we still need clean air, clean water and clean food?

Blinded by the pursuit of that dollar. Most of earth's human inhabitants are. the one's who just want to survive (IE: afriKa) are the one's who pay the highest price.

)Our planet will get trumped again: Efforts on global warming chilled by economic woes - MSNBC Wire Services - MSNBC.com
A super mixed up set of priorities going on with the population. part of being "insane" is doing the same things, expecting different results each time.

im not worried about job security but i am worried that gas is going to be like 10 dollars a gallon and i cant afford to recreate, i would really like to see biodiesel take off but i know the government wont do it, a private company like that one who is doing the algae thing will take off and we can have both gas guzzling and environmentaly friendly vehicles, oil is a bunch of crap
