Up here in canada it goes like this

-no autos
-nothing shorter than 4" (handguns)/24" (shotguns/rifles)
-No more than 10rounds in clip (pistol)

There may be other rules that I am un-aware of, but those up there really limit us to anything 'fun' to shoot.

Anyways. I always wondered, can you buy a fully automatic ak47 or ak74?
How bout an hk mp5k? seeing how its so small, shoots 900rpm, and is full auto, I would think that even in the states its illegal.

Depending on your state you can pretty much buy whatever you want, but the cost of owning a fully automatic rifle or rocket launcher, etc is prohibitively expensive. There's a gun shop near me that a friend was telling me sold machine guns, but with the permits and everything they were like $15,000.

EDIT: In my town you can have up to a 30 round clip, but if you drive into Hamilton County (Cincinnati) the maximum is 10 rounds.
