if there is ANY correlation b/w being an Atheist and being grumpy (can't be proven at all...impossible to do so), it would PROBABLY be the "realist" attitude witnessed in such people.

Science and logic are different from emotion and often push away emotion. Faith in a god is more emotion than science and logic. Based on this, scientific or logical people may appear blunt, w/o emotion, or annoyed by emotional stuff that seems 'stupid' to them.

Look at some of the differences b/w men and women for examples of this.

Surprisingly I am not an athiest either. I believe there is a higher power. I just don't believe that anybody on Earth has it figured out, and organized religions are full of shit. If "god" is ever revealed to us, it'll be done by a scientist and not a preacher.

I'm pretty sure scientists are going the other way with that discovery attempt, though. The Higgs-Boson theory is going to be tested sooner or later (when the accelerator is finalized). For those who don't know what Higgs-Boson is, it's basically a theory of creating matter from nothing, proving that there's no need for a creator to create anything.

Agnosticism is more of cautious skepticism, "I'll believe it when I see it" kind of thing. But yeah, athiesm is belief in no god. Nihilism is belief of nothing.

well, I don't think thats too fine and dandy either. For young developing people like children, topics like that can really affect them. How they are being raised is none of my damn business....really its not...beliefs in god or not in god are something that each person must find on their own IMO. What if you really scar a kid by shaking up his developing beliefs which could be very important to him?

(edit: i overlooked the j/k part....so I'm assuming you don't really do this.)

Some people take religion very seriously and some don't think about it at all in their daily life...b/c of this you have to be carefull of sensitivity.

Other people's religious beliefs are their own business...not mine...I don't believe in pressing that issue at all with people. This applies across the spectrum...from atheist to the radical fundamentalist. Do your thing and wish others well with theirs!
