For those who don't know, I work for the First Year Experience Office at my university. Basically, our mandate is to help students with the transition from high school to university by doing orientation sessions during the summer and offering various workshops, seminars, volunteer opportunities and other programing throughout the year.

Anyway, we needed a camera for publications and event photography, so they asked me to help pick one out for them. Decided on a Nikon D50 with the stock 18-55mm kit lens, and my boss and I went to go pick it up after work today. We purchase it, and she asks whether I want to take it home and play with it first. Damn straight I did. Here's a bunch of stuff I shot in my room, just for the heck of it. Kind of underexposed, but the lighting's pretty dim and the built-in flash isn't anything to write home about.

Microfibre cloth to wipe the screen and to prevent oil/dirt/crap that's left by my fingers from getting onto the screen when the lid's closed.

lemmie know how you like the bullhorns, I was thinking about getting some but I might get tighter track bars instead (using road bars right now) and I can't see being able to get leverage on horns to chase busses and shit.

I fenced varsity foil for three years and epee for one. I always considered and will always consider myself a foilist, but I seriously kicked all kinds of ass in epee; far better than I did with foil. :P
