This thread is for all my Canadian comrades. (I don't believe this is a civic holiday elsewhere)

May long is upon us and as such summer camping season officially begins today. I have had a bit of depression going on in the back of my mind that I have attributed to not being in the mountains for a month now. But that will all change tomorrow morning when I head off into the Rockies with a few good friends, some sturdy boots and my backpack. Not certain of our destination yet but I found a small glacier last year that has a nice lake beside it that we may head too. Pics to follow.

Who else is going camping this weekend? If not camping, what are your plans for the long weekend?

btw, 28 degrees here today 29 predicted for tomorrow. Thats 85 F for you metric-challenged Imperialists.

Hmm, I work by the American holiday schedule sadly. No plans. Your trip sounds fantastic though. Look forward to the pics. It's reminded me to make time this summer for some outdoorsy stuff. Another bike trip hopefully! Hell maybe buy myself a new bike to boot.

Next week is a 3 day weekend here in the States though - Memorial Day. So we can all celebrate together.

My company is a division of an American company. I am starting a petition around the office for us to recognize both countries civic holidays.

Hmmm...let's see..have to go to Home Depot tonight to pick up some materials for landscaping, then going to do that tomorrow. Have to get groceries...ummmm...not a hell of a lot.

It's tough when you have a 2 year-old and an 8-month old. Just going to do lots of BBQ'ing this weekend.

Oh...and the warmest day this weekend is going to be 27 degrees here in Regina, the city that rhymes with fun.

Hawaii has 30 holidays for state employees. All the usual stuff and then the rest for culture, statehood or getting forced into it. 30 three day weekends a year for state employees..sweet
