Not sure how much the electricity would cost but I may buy one just for the gas savings.

To quote a comedian named Dave Mordal:

"Oh we should have electric cars because they're non-poluting"

Yeah, because electricity comes from magic! Not a power plant, it comes from magic. You just plug the car into the wall and the electricity comes out from a jellybean field!"

I'm actually looking at either a hybrid or ethanol (or both) vehicle for my next car. We're on the cusp of a revolution people, you don't want to be left behind.

Well for starters a power plant is going to make electricity alot more efficently then a couple liter gas engine and move the pollution away from populated areas and not all electricity comes from power plants burning fossil fuels, this town's power comes from hydroelectric and wind...

so basicly that guy getting 100 mpg is probibly paying a hell of alot less because the cost of electricity is alot cheaper then the cost of gasoline to get the same amount of electricity

i work in this "environmental" community complex where all the houses are energy efficient and have solar panels and whatnot (the funny thign is our offices are in the very center and we have NO energy saving measures but anyways...). Theres a few people in the community that drive hybrids and full electrics and instead of pluging into the municiple power source they plug into a solar cell array. Now im not sure how much the solar cell array costs to produce or whatever but it seems like a neat way to get the power. I see cars there for 2-3 days at a time though so im sure its not that efficient but just thought it was interesting.
