I heard some sermons from this guy today and I was stunned. Racist, anti-American, radical, crazy... And not only has he been preaching in Obama's church for 2o years, he was his spiritual adviser on the campaign! It pretty much speaks for itself, check it out:

its called political sabotage. Someone didn't pay somebody w/ media connections enough cheddar and now someone is getting sniped at .

Who gives a fuck if he is somehow down a chain of people related to this preacher. He won't get away with that attitude if he was in office and nothing will change the status quo of society...no matter who is in office.

Besides, Obama doesn't portray himself in the fashion that the preacher does in that video, and I only care about how Obama portrays himself, not all this other bullshit like his middle name, father's name, religious adviser, type of toilet paper he uses, type of toothpaste he uses (well, if he uses Crest, then we have issues, so never mind that one), etc etc.

The next headline will be, "Obama doesn't like doggy-style sex"...just watch.

The guy has been preaching in Obama's church for DECADES. Honestly, if you don't think this extremely damages his chances all I have are adjectives like "naive" or "delusional". Is it political sniping? You bet. But anybody willingly sitting in the pew listening to this shit FOR DECADES does not deserve to be president of our nation.

McCain's "pastor" is just as bad with his crusade against Islam. Personally, I wish religion would stay the fuck out of the presidency/law/government/etc.

I think this news, combined with McCain's crap, pretty much washes out in terms of votes...you were either going to vote for them or not. Personally I find it interesting to read ahead of the election to see if they'll follow the advice of their "pastor" if elected.

oh come on....are you really basing your decision not to vote for Obama off of this bullshit? That isn't getting by me.

I think you didn't like him already, and all this video is doing is singing to the choir, making you feel even better about your stance against him. You can like/dislike whoever you want..its your opinion. I just don't think that video had much to do with the formation of it.

Sure, there are morons who will look at bullshit politics and base their decisions off of it, but, there could be just as many people who feel passionately for him as against. There will be constant waves of political sniping throughout this whole election, and opinions will sway like a pendulum as the waves pass. The only way we will know the outcome of all of it is to sit back and watch.

First, I hope this clears up the question of whether Obama is a Christian or a Muslim. Secondly, unless anyone has grown up in the Black Church in America no one is in a position to understand or pass judgement on Obama or his relationship with his pastor. The Black Church in America is more than just a building for worship. For centuries, it has been the place of peace and hope and congregation and the platform for Civil Rights Movement itself as Dr. King often preached about the movement from his pulpit. H. Tubman herself was considered the "Moses" of the Underground Railroad. Social and theological ideology has always cross-pollinated in the Black Church and from the pulpit. Bishop T.D. Jakes, according to Time magazine "America's best preacher, said himself (from the pulpit) there is no way he can preach about only spiritual things when people are also suffering from social and economic problems as well. Bishop deals with finances and housing and helping single mothers get cars and rehabilitating prisoners into society. Those things are not spiritual, they too are social. In reference to Obama's former pastor, as Obama said himself look holistically at the man. This man preached for more than 30 years, which means he's probably lived another 20 or 30 before he began preaching. He might be one full generation removed from slavery, and he certainly witnessed segregation. Black America is moving pass the racisim, but we certainly have not forgotten it. And how can we when it still happens in our lifetime. I am 28 years, and my late next-door neighbor and former Alabama state senator won a case against the KKK for lynching a black man in Alabama in the 1980s. At the Potter's House in 2008 we celebrated the release of a black man from a 28-year wrongful incarceration in prison. How do can a preacher solely deal with spiritual issues when his or her congregation clearly has needs that are just as important??? The Black spiritual leaders have always provided comfort and hope to the Black community when outside their sanctuaries, it seemed bleak. AND I can understand how Obama can be in the service and hear, or not hear his pastor, and not receive and/or believe everything that is not gospel. My pastor in Alabama (who still serves as senior pastor) has always discussed the issue of race from the pulpit. I heard it, went home, and discussed it with my parents. My dad is still a member of the church. Our pastors are not Jesus. We don't blindly accept everything they say. However, to ask Obama and his family to leave the church is unfair as well, for the Black church is indeed more than a building. Community and family dwell there. My sister and I drive 30 minutes each to Dallas from either side of the DFW metroplex in order to worship together. Black families are whole spiritually and communally in the Black church. To separate one from the other is the rip apart the soul of the people.
