| Lord Of Porn | I can’t believe I am making a thread like this. I hope some handyman knows what the fuck is going on. Here’s the story: This morning I take a piss and flush, no big deal. I later smell a sewage smell coming from the toilet so I flush it, just because. It still kind of smells but I shrugged it off. I take my shower, all is fine. I happen to flush the toilet again (im flush happy) after using some of those toilet bowl cleaners (liquid) to get rid of the smell and then the toilet just gets clogged. Then my mom says there are bubbles coming out of her toilet in her room. At this point im going wtf. The water is slowly going down the toilet so I flush a few more times and nothing, still just goes down slowly. My mom flushes her toilet, it’s also clogged. We notice some sewage shit coming out of the bath tubs drain. I also notice sewage smell from the sinks drain. My moms toilet area fucking smells so bad. So what the fuck mag? I didn’t take a shit this morning and all this happens?!?!? So we called a plumber that we use for light stuff around the house and he is saying there is something clogging the main sewage pipes and we would have to remove one of the toilets to get a snake down in the pipe in order not damaging the toilet bowl. He said he would charge us $170 or so. He has a day job so plumbing is on the side for him. We also asked our two next door neighbors and they have no issues so it’s just our house. Anyone know why the fuck this happens now when I didn’t even take a big Persian shit? VVVVVVVVVVVV - UPDATE - check below VVVVVVVVVV |

so he has to break the seal on the toilet, un bolt it and then bolt it back and reseal it? sounds like a lot of god damn work for only $170, with the prices god damn plumbers charge and all. | |

| Globe Trekker | $170 bucks is a steal. It's dirty work, and he'll probably have to replace the wax seal and maybe the bolts. I wouldn't do that job for 170 bucks, no way. Especially if I knew your ass was involved. |

| Not Just Handsome | Gah. Reminds of the Dirty Jobs they aired last night. Poor guy had to go into a septic tank. There was also some toilet that exploded or something, didnt catch the beginning of it. Good luck. Hope your mom doesnt have to take a deuce. |

| Not Just Handsome | Well, I cant blame your mom. Once at Starbucks, our toilet was clogged with like 80lbs of toilet paper and dung. I must of foolishly had a frappuccno at the beginning of my shift and about an hour later I felt the runs coming. As hard as I tried holding it I couldnt win. I just took a shit on top of already clogged toilet. I figure they wont know even though there's a pefectly shaped log sitting on top of all the mixed toilet/poop. Good times. |

| Globe Trekker | Maybe the sewer was clogged, or there was heavy rain in your area? That can sometimes cause the sewers to back up. |

| Party? Where? | SOunds like a problem with your fucking sewer system in the area and not your house. If its raining a shitload, stormsewer water will back up into the regular sewage, and if theres enough of it it will come straight up your house pipes. |

| Tweak Minion | Call rotorooter and tell them to bring the big snake, it's not likelky to get better. If it were rainwater problem, and your neighbors, if they are nearby less than 500 feet and their plumbing is at the same elevation and they don't have the same prob? Take your lifejacket to bed the tide is coming in! Don't use the toilets again, plumbers charge by the log,,, |

| outside the box! | I wouldn't touch a job like that for less than 400 bux. WB's right, the problem still exists, you just got a temporary reprieve for now. The smell and associated fecal volcanic activity will resume. Roots can cause a slow/ blocked drain, I've seen main lines that were so rooted in, that the whole thing had to be dug up and replaced. Those kind of problems don't generally fix themselves. The problem will resurface when you have a date coming over. FYI: don't let anyone slip you any "turbolax"!!! |

| Lord Of Porn | heres an update: our issue was still on-going on thursday and friday in the mornings so we finally called up roto rooter today, on a saturday and came out 1hour later. they found the access pipe or whatever outside our house and snaked out a shit ton of roots. granted they were a bundle of tiny roots, we do have a big problem. for now the problem is fixed and we are going to buy some stuff that should kill off the roots. all in all they charged us $160 and they fixed it all from the outside of our house. it was actually pretty cool, you could see down the pipe and watch the water flow. thanks for the help, i am glad we didnt go with the guy who does this shit on the side, im sure he wouldnt have the super long snake to go down our pipe or find the access hole. |

| outside the box! | Weeping willow trees are the worst for doing that to mainlines. The tap roots find the water source and the it's like the movie 'Deep Rising'. I hate plumbing. Them guys (plumbers) really do earn their money. |
