I had two health food related thoughts, so I combined them into one thread.

What are your favorite things to eat with celery? Here are mine:

Ranch, blue cheese, or dill dressing.
Peanut butter.
Hummus.

Also, anybody eat this imitation crab stuff? It's 70 calories per serving, 2.5 servings per packages (so 175 calories per pack). And it's made from haddock so it seems pretty healthy. Is it? And if you eat it, how do you prepare it?

I don't think Ranch is all that healthy for you b/c it contains a shit load of Mayo....

I eat a lot of turkey sandwiches, roast beef sandwiches and pastrami, sometimes instead of Mayo I'll put on butter on the top and buttom and grill it and put a slice of cheese in the middle. I've cut back on A LOT of fast food. The only fast food I eat is In n Out and I probably haven't been there in a week and a half. If i eat out I'll go to places like BJ's or authentic restaurant places

1. All natural almond butter for sure. Haven't been able to eat celery lately due to the braces, but that all changes in 9 days!

2. Imitation crab isn't bad for you, but depending on the brand it can be loaded with preservatives and often some bad carbohyrdates. Plus I've seen it made before, and that's enough to turn anybody off the stuff.

As matt said, choose your crab imitation wisely. I eat it quite often so here's a few ideas:

- If you already make macaroni/pasta salads (with mayo or other dressings), crab imitation is a great addition to such meals. Add some veggies, olives..

- I sometimes add it in stews instead of meat cubes

- I put some in the past in "mexican rice". Rice with tomatoes, beans, etc. It was good.

It's good with a little olive oil and garlic, wilted spinach leaves, over whole wheat pasta.
