This has absolutely nothing to do with Dell.
Redhat pretty much payed $2mill to be part of this project, so thats why apple got turned down.

There once was a man named Bertold
Who drank beer when the weather grew cold
As he reached for his cup...
"NEEEEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP!!!"
Oh, snap! You just got limerickrolled!

Open Source will make people smarter because they have to work more to learn how to use it.

I make myself laugh.

Nope, read the article.
Its AMD Redhat and some others, no Dell.

Apple wasn't rejected based on the merits of their OS, so I don't see this as a smack down for Jobs.

My only question is, will I be able to buy said hundred dollar laptop? I've got two children, I should be able to buy two.

I think it said somewhere that a commercial version will be available for around $200 at the release.
