I'm less of a hunter, more a shooter. I've shot a .223 a shitload of times. the only bigger thing I've shot was 7.28, a few AKs and some niceass HK.
What the hell are you guys talking about thats bigger? .50 cal is the only one I can think of off the top of my head, and thats kind of a novelty item for hunting And common ammo, like stuff you can buy at the range/gun store.

I was under the impression that 7mm was a pea-shooter, smaller 9mm. Its a higher powered round or what? Link me plz

and with the regards to hunting, i guess we're full blown redneck, a shitload of people around here use ARs for hunting, some guy I know keeps an AK on his farm for shooting rabbits..

EDIT: and i'm a scrawny bastard, the 7.28 nearly knocks me on my ass. I'm like 120lbs right now...

every round that miller listed is bigger than the 223. plus a few more not listed. Remember, just because the .mil used the m16 which fires the 223/556 doesnt mean its a big bad scary round, or that the liberal media says so either. not that id want to be shot by one or nothing. but compared to the other rifle rounds, the 223 is near the bottom.

My google-fu is weak, so for the 7mm round, next time your at wally world or a local gun store, open a box of 7mm and see for yourself. its bigger than a 30.06 if that helps any.

well i went shopping yesterday at gander mountain, i looked at the remington 710 and a savage, forgot the model, but it came with scope was synthetic for 400$, the guy said it was a better gun, but it felt cheap, the remington felt much better built to me. i didnt buy anything, they were insanly overpriced.

They're awefull heavy to pack for 4-6 hours. If I buy another hunting rifle, it's got to be a Winchester feather-lite.....spendy but easy to pack in the woods.
