Tomorrow I'm leaving at 7:00am to get to Athens, GA by 8:30am for Math Department Graduate Day. They will have a bunch of faculty and graduate students there for a whole day of fun fun fun. Here's the schedule:

Sit in on our graduate classes or use this time to explore campus

101:10am-11:00am - Room 323 - Brian Boe, Modern Algebra II
10:10am - 11:00am - Room 322 - Roy Smith, Modern Algebra I

Current students will be available to answer your questions and tell you what it is really like to be a student at UGA.

2:30pm – 3:15pm – Room 302
VIGRE Research Talk

Dr. Jason Cantarella, Geometry/Topology
Hopefully I like it. It is 1 of only 3 schools I applied to. I applied to UGA, Emory University and Louisiana State University. I think it would be cool to see the types of undergrad students that are attending as well to get a feel for my 'peers'. Anyone else ever done this? Better yet, anyone still in highschool that has the opportunity to go visit a school??

Have you highschool seniors been accepted anywhere and what your plans?

Master of the lightnings, rider on the storm,
wearer of a crown of swords, spinnerout of fate.
Who thinks he turns the Wheel of Time,
may learn the truth too late.

I'll never be too old to tweak.

Actually - funny you mention that. Tomorrow I'm heading to Evansville Indiana for a "Road Trip" thing they do - they send buses out to a bunch of major cities and they ship kids in for a weekend. I've visited there once and really liked it. www.evansville.edu (plus, their mascot is a fucking river gambler, can't beat that).

Other than that I'm also considering Ohio University. Visiting there next Friday.

sweet, I go to a small private liberal arts college and I love it. I feel I can make a difference on campus and become a leader.
