Well the doctor pretty much just said "sounds like the same old lower back problem millions of people have" which I expected I guess. I did get some crappy pain pills and some muscle relaxants, and will go give some physical therapy another run, its been a few years since I've done it so maybe they can tell me something new.

muscle relaxants just make you sleepy, the other stuff is additive, don't take it. here's some simple rules. get a good mattress. sleep face down, face up is your enemy. never ever bend over, bend your knees. don't pick up heavy things and don't be afraid to tell people you can't do that. I thought my life was over at 35 but following these simple rules at 45, I have no back pain at all.
