| Jolly Roger | So after much searching and brain racking I finally decided on a new LCD monitor, I wanted to go dual but it would mean that I need to get a new desk so I’ve decided to put that on hold and just get one really nice monitor, I decided against widescreen as well as I do eventually plan to run duels and don’t want to deal with the gaming repercussions of a widescreen, they Dell I was looking at wouldn’t have made a great gaming monitor as well, though I don’t game much anymore. I decided on the Viewsonic VX924 http://www.viewsonic.com/products/de...xseries/vx924/ it was on sale with cheap shipping at NCIX so I decided to go with it( still cost me close to $500 Tom’s hardware gave it a fairly nasty review, but then I’ve never like toms :P everywhere else seems to love it and I’ve always like viewsonic. I was considering the VA902B as it would have been more realistic for duals but I don’t like the lack of DVI, had it not been for that I would have likely gotten it instead and saved $110. http://www.viewsonic.com/products/de...series/va902b/ specs here. Wull see in a few days If I’m happy with my purchase, I’ll get picks when it comes. I;m also nerdishly excited as for the first time ever my entire computer will match :P everything is silver and black. I also went and picked up a set of wireless headphones. http://www.sennheiserusa.com/newsite...ransid=newHD-4 they were on sale and my parents have been giving me shit about my music late at night for a while, seemed like a good solution, I love being able to walk around the entire house with these things, I even took the garbage out and they worked fine outside as well, in the summer I’m going to plug them into my amp so that I have music outside well I go out and play bass. It would have been nice to get the rechargeable set (mine runs on AAA’s), but due to the sale they were almost double the price. I had these for about a week though and have used them a lot and the batteries are still good so I’m not to worried. They sound spectacular. I’ve gone on abit of a spending spree as of late :P a made a few other small purchases that most of you wouldn’t care about, though I’ll likely post my new pipe in our next drug thread :P You can also expect to see a thread in the GG soon….. |

| infinite resolution | I think you will be very happy with that monitor, congrats. And ha, I know what you mean by color matching, I was so happy when I finally got a black keyboard to match the rest of my computer. It is so sexy |

| Jolly Roger | well, I got it a few days ago, Monitor looks awesome, very crisp and vibrant, I haven't had a chance to watch a DVD on here yet, but games look outstanding, I am very happy with the monitor, there isn't a hint of ghosting or motion blurring whatsoever in any games i've played. the monitor is a little on the bright side though, still trying to adjust the brightness and contrast to a level I like. anyways, as promised here is a picture of it setup. ![]() The battery’s on the sennheisers finally died aswell, the cheap batteries that came with it lasted 2 weeks or so of moderate use, maybe 3 hours a day or so average. i expect it to be a little better with the good batteries I put in. If you have a set of speakers you use for the most part and the headphones are just for late and night and when want music around the house I totally recommend these, but if they are your only source of music you will probably want to spend the extra coin and get the set that has a charger and does not take batteries. either way, very happy with my recent purchases |
