Anyone seen Night Watch and the sequel Day Watch?

Both fantastic movies, and I'm really curious now to read the entire series. I here Twilight Watch is being filmed and released in 2009, but it's all in English (Fox got their grubby hands on the series now).

Very interesting if anyone here wants to see kind of a cross between The Matrix and Harry Potter (at least that's how I see it).

I've got both on DVD, they have a very distinct style and are well worth watching, even with the subtitles.

Licorice King's

Gamercard

I tried watching the first the other day and absolutely couldn't finish it. It's probably the worst thing I've ever seen in my entire life.

I'm curious, can you guys (haters) tell me what you think was painful / bad in this movie?

I'm not starting an argument, I just want to hear about another point of view.

Because personnaly, I especially liked the "difference" portrayed in Nightwatch. A very american scenario, but treated in the euro / eastern euro tradition. The aestethics were also different from what we're used with american movies.

Agreed, I enjoyed the differences from the usual Hollywood style, and they generally used special effects very well.

It just, well, made little sense, and was sloppy. Also, the "acting" made me want to shit on my fucking pants. I heard tons of good things and just couldn't force myself to like it (or even finish it) no matter how hard I tried.

That movie was so inconsequential to me, I can't remember anything about it except for its name, and how much I hated it. Sorry I can't present any substantive arguments against it.
