I will give respect until someone shows me that they dont deserve it. I treat each occasion I might encounter someone as a separate event, and try not to link the events. Maybe I am weird, but respect is important even if you dont respect someone.

I believe in a base line amount of respect for anyone, no matter the circumstances. This really has a lot of meaning for those who are in need, and gives me the ability to maybe help them out somewhere in their lives and make their lives more enjoyable.

Maybe not everyone was taught that kind of respect, but for my parents and especially my dad it was very important. When I disrespected him as a child he used to have me write the definition of respect, character by character, from the dictionary 50 times. Lets just say respect is very important to me now.
