Well, a Troy-Bilt with a Honda engine anyway. I was out struggling with my old mower this morning and finally said "Fuck it!" I got 10 years out of that sucker, it was time for something new.

I have a ride mower also, this is just for the trim work and places the rider won't fit. It's not self-propelled, because I don't feel like I need that feature. It's easy exercise really.

If theres one passtime I thoroughly enjoy, its getting the mower overhauled after the winter.

I'll drag it out, clean the plugs filter, change the oil and get a can of carb cleaner and run it through. Theres just something about small engines that catches my interest, even it it is only 3.5 horsepower its still fun to work on.

I've always wanted to take an old mower and do a little port job on it and fit it with a small motorcycle carb that permits more air/fuel. lol, stupid yes, but still fun haha.

Then you should have driven past my house this afternoon, as my old mower was sitting out there free to the taker. And it wasn't there an hour. I helped load it in some lady’s' SUV...

I rebuilt and cleaned the carb last fall, and it ran great! But there was an oil leak and the carb was dirty again within 6 mows. It was almost 10 years old, and had seen HEAVY use at my old house (2 acres, lots of push mowing). Three of the four wheels I had to rebuild as the height adjustment mechanisms had failed. I don't enjoy small engine work and it was becoming a headache. If I had more time maybe, but I travel too damn much.

That's pretty darn cheap for a Honda.

My cheapo Tecumsa powered mower is starting to fall apart. I swear, I have to take apart and clean the carb every other time I run the damn thing. I never had to do that even once on the old Honda.

Makes sense to me!

Them honda motors are the shit. i'd take one over a B&S any day. I've had those Tecumseh 2 strokes and they're the only thing to do steep hilly portions of yards; they're light and the oil doesn't need to bath the slinger for them to get lubrication. Tecumsehs are fucked to work on though. When the company buys anything gas powered, we insist on Honda motors. B&S isn't bad, but Hondas are better IMO. That mower ought to last you until you're almost my age , with basic maitanence. Now, time to get those white sneakers green.

dammit!!! I'm about out of aluminum foil! Yup...."brix shall be shat".

Yeah, I figure this is probably the last push mower I'll ever buy. 20 years from now my "yard" will likely be sand, if all goes well.
