Listen to the entire interview and tell us what you think? I'm just curious. The last 2 minutes of the interview really are what I'm most curious about when it comes to your point of view.

Hint: He wants you to say that O'Reilly owned Letterman!

...And remember, kids, keep it fair and balanced, like FOX News.

BTW, here's a video of said interview (you'll need QT).

I think OReilly hit the nail on the head.

I'll watch it tomorrow but for oreilly's sake he better have owned david letterman, he's a comedian not a "news" guy.

And fuck thier audience or whomever runs the applause light.

Meh, I saw the whole thing, and it only proves that Letterman doesn't know a thing about O'Reilly, Fox News, or whats going on in the world.

I'm not sticking up for O'Reilly, but it felt like Letterman kept talking shit, and then was like "Well, I don't know that much about it".

Letterman got in a few jabs, but in general O'Reilly was batting his ass around.

"No way I'm going to allow terrorists that blow up women and children to be called "Freedom Fighters" on my program." Ouch...

Then Letterman ragged on O'Reilly's show and when pressed admitted that he had never watched it but had "read about it." "C'mon Dave, you are going to believe what you read? Do you know what they write about you?" Damn!

I've been a Letterman fan for years but I could barely watch that.

That was the most awkward interview I've every seen.
Letterman was really unprofessional right from the start and O'Reilly handled it pretty well. But as expected letterman had nothing to back up his comments and bill called him on it.

If I'm letterman and I know I'm going to debate bill on my show I sure in hell would have prepared for it to bring up some valid points.

I wonder if john stewart's going to comment on it.

When did this air?

Bill is in the entertainment buisness, not the 'news' buisness

I saw part of it on CNN the other day, and I liked the part where he started off with a compliment, "I'm not smart enough to debate you point by point," Bill was smiling thinking about how smart he is... and then Dave said he thought 60% of what Bill said was bullshit. Funny stuff.

Edit: But I did think it was rather unprofessional. Then again Bill is not the master of tact or kindness to his guests either.

Oh yeah, I don't care for him actually. And I NEVER watch Fox News. I've loved Letterman for years, but I was very dissapointed at how he handled that interview. When commedians start getting political it stops being funny for me. If they've always done political humor that's one thing. For this reason I despise Janeane Garofalo. I saw her on the Daily Show once and even John Stewart was getting pissed at how frothing at the mouth she was getting.

Late Night Talk Shows + Politics = Teh Lose, every time. I don't care if it's O'Reilly on Letterman, or "da Governator" on Jay Leno; I'm just there for Monday Night Headlines and the Top 10 List...

I dont think anybody really got owned in that interview, and i'm sure some of the stuff O'Reilly said was taken out of context in his favor. Bill O'Reilly doesnt really sit well with me. I've watched his show before and have been surprised by the dumb things he says, just cant remember which. I personally don't care about the changing of "Merry Christmas" to "Happy Holidays". If you're a business and are dealing with large amounts of people, it makes business sense to not alieante a large amount of your customers. The same goes for broadcast companies and radio stations. They're not saying YOU can't say Merry Christmas to whomever you like. What if they all just started saying Happy Kwanza only? I'm sure many Chrisitan's would riot and burn cities down. People take things too personal.

Shut your mouth and think it out.

1. the audience was behind Letterman the whole interview, except the terrorists/freedom fighter statement.

2. bill had no chance to win over that crowd, or Letterman's respect.

3. there is bullshit on every side of the political spectrum. My big gripe is over the source people tend to get their oppinions from. People DO base their oppinions from entertainers, hollywood, and the media w/o researching it ON THEIR OWN! PEOPLE DON'T READ!

This is why issues today seem more like soap operas or movies. I predict in 10 more years, we will see DVD's released over the issues that make the news.

Imagine one Christmas morning and you open up a gift which is a DVD of "The Lacy Peterson Story" with special behind the scenes commentary and clips. Wow.

not a huge fan of either guy. Actually dont really like Oreilly. I have seen Bills show a few times and he grills his guests a lot. So just seemed like letterman was doing that to him.
