a while back i interviewed a minority for a programming/grpahics position...he was a 3d developer, fairly smart and well book versed sort of guy, he showed us his animations and work he posed as stuff he had "done".
Well fortunately our 3d developer was in the room kicking back and listening and watching. After the interview he brings a book into the room, pulls a cd out of the back, and shows us the EXACT same files the guy just got done showing us he had produced. The book showed EXACTLY how to produce the animations step by step.
When we called him up about it on the phone the next day he apologized and told us that is what his teacher said would be "good examples" to show people of what he can do. Where did he come from? ITT ... and not stereotype but a place where a lot of minorities will go, and thus they are all getting this sort of information.
This is what is setting minorities back in the industry, lack of talent and teachers who are willing to set them on the RIGHT track and not jsut get them through a class and pass off others work as their own.
