I guess just the majority of people don't give a hoot about what the media is. Not that many people are actually taking advantage of DVD-R/ DVD+R anyway.

I'll never be too old to tweak.

were gonna start seeing alot of dvd collections on ebay.

too many people have invested in their dvd collections to just up jump and get rid of them for hddvd.

too much of a hassle.

We have an HD dvd demo at work. HDMI player hooked up to a 32" LCD panel.

Not all that impressed personally, I can still see alot of pixelation, and although the movie looks a little clearer, I would never pay out for HD DVD. I found, believe it or not, upconverting dvd players to look better lol.

Then again im not an AV guy...

All I want is cheap content. Whichever format gives me that, wins.
Look at DVD-A and SACD--who the hell buys those? Audiophiles, for the most part. Most people have good ol' CDs and maybe a couple of titles (if any) in either DVD-A or SACD, and it's always something like Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon.
Like Torx said, too many people have invested on DVD, and I happen to be one of them. I, too, would rather upconvert than have to buy new discs and equipment.
Once again, fuck the MPAA and the RIAA!
Have a good day.

I liked the DVD on on side and HD DVD on the other, it seems to give HD DVD an advantage.

Arent holograpic discs coming out soon too?

I make myself laugh.

I won't be adopting either format until there is a clear winner, or they join forces. And I won't be replacing all of my DVD movies. Except to download them for free that is.
