| Globe Trekker | So, what site did you find? |

| Banned | I missed the $69 tickets from airtran because I was 1 day late. Besides that the cheapest I found was $199 a ticket(one way). I ended up getting a roundtrip package from orbitz with a hotel for $239. I'm not gonna use the hotel, but the package was cheaper than just the plane tickets alone. It's weird, you can get plane tickets + hotel cheaper than just plane tickets. |

| Saint, Church of Ryanism | I use Airtran every time I fly. They are cheap as hell. Usually, tickets are only $100 a piece one way from anywhere to anywhere, but they go up for the holidays a little, and get much more strict with buying close to the departure date. I was going to recommend Orbitz. They're usually pretty good. Depending on where you're going, Travelocity and Expedia have some good deals. It's also a good idea to check for the same plane tickets through the particular airline companie's web site. You can save money that way a lot of the time. I've flown a ton of times since I've joined the Navy. ~Will Courtier~ |

| Banned | Chicago. I found out thursday night that technically I'm no longer on probation, so for the first time in 18 months I can legally leave the state for more than 24hrs. My GF is going there for a presentation for work, so I'm pretty much going just for the hell of it. Bigwill, I was gonna get them from airtran, but the $69 tickets sold out by time I knew I could go. The next cheapest through them was $199 one way. I ended up getting a deal through orbitz with this package because it included a hotel. The same exact tickets through american airline itself were $200 more WITHOUT the hotel. The same package through orbitz without the hotel were $220 more than with the hotel. I don't understand why the tickets are cheaper with the hotel, but I dont care, my seat is booked on both planes so I'm not worrying about it, I just wanted the plane tickets. $239 round trip. EDIT: I'm going this weekend, I'm leaving friday at 6:30pm and returning Monday in the AM. Last edited by Electric_Head; 11-12-2006 at 05:52 PM.. |

| Saint, Church of Ryanism | That's cheap as hell for such short notice. You really got a good deal. Airtran is really popular, and usually does fill up the coach seats within the last week or two. Especially during the holidays. ~Will Courtier~ |

| is not Scooby | Jesus, that's a pretty good deal. I'm trying to get a round trip ticket out to AZ, but all the prices I'm getting are outrageous. Back a few months ago, I would have been able to get a round trip ticket for $275, but now I'm looking at $500. Ouch. |

| Banned | The hotel is CandleWood Suites of Chicago. I'm not going to be using the room.....like I said, the package with the hotel + round trip tickets was cheaper than the roundtrip tickets alone. I got the package from orbitz. They were the same exact tickets I was looking at through american airlines webpage, the second I booked them through orbitz the planes were sold out on american airlines webpage, and I saved $200 by getting this package instead of buying the tickets direct from american airlines. Sparky, Look at airtran. They offer $69 coach seats to anywhere in the country, but they sell out when it gets 1-2 weeks before departure. If you can't get the $69 tickets, check out orbitz and travelocity for hotel + roundtrip ticket packages. All the packages I looked at that included the hotel were cheaper than just the roundtrip tickets alone. EDIT: I was a bit skeptical about the deal, but I logged into american airlines webpage and confirmed my seat on both planes, the same exact tickets I was going to buy alone, I got $200 cheaper because they came with a hotel room lol.
