I'm in the market for a new cell phone (via tmobile but so long as its GSM and can take a sim im golden) and of all the fancy features im seeing lately i have yet to see one that can act as an external drive. This would be great to me as i carry around a 2GB stick every day to work and forget it every so often so im stuck without it all day if i forget it at home, yet i always remeber my cell cause well, its kinda impossible to forget.
So are there any fones out there that have this sort of functionality? I'd like at least a GB but if it can offer 5+ it would be even better.

i heard of some phones coming out with large memory built in...i can't think of the models though, I have the PPC-6700 with Sprint and when i plug it into my computer, I can use it as a "hard drive" but obviously the memory is only like 128MB built in to it...

tremblay's ericsson k750i has 38mb of onboard memory and a memory stick pro duo slot. he's got a 2 gb stick in there right now. it's convenient since his lappy has a memory stick reader as well. you can also plug the phone into a usb jack and transfer to either the onboard memory or the memory stick. 4gb memory stick pr duo's just came out as well.

i think thats about as close as you're gonna get.

The nokia n series can but you need either bluetooth on your computer or you have to use a data cable.

If you want a kick ass phone look into the nokia n80. Only the euro version is out but that shouldn't matter since you are on t-mo and they have no 3g yet.

If you want lots of features and something pretty much better than a full sized pda then get a symbian based phone (most likely nokia). Otherwise if you want a lot of features but don't want to get into pda goodness then the sony phones will do.

Whatever you do, try them out first.
