I just updated to XBMC 2.0.1 and now none of my vidoes will stream over my network! I'm burning a CD of various formats to test right now just to illiminate the network, but at this point I have no idea what is going wrong. I can view the files but as soon as I click on them nothing happens...

The only things I know about the Xbox media centre are -

1 - The only videos it'll play are WMVs and

2 - If you don't have WMC then you need WMP11 and even then it'll only stream music and pictures.

I'm assuming your XBMC has been installed on your PC? Maybe Microsoft are yet to release the patch to make the Xbox compatible with it? Or vice versa.

I've actually got it installed on a modded Xbox. I've got it all fowled up now and am reinstalling EvoX and all that jazz from scratch.

I have NO idea why, but for whatever reason the file transfer from my PC via FTP or Windows Explorer was all fucked up. I downloaded Slayer's Auto-Installer and it installed fine via DVD-R. That's 3-4 hours of my life that I'll never get back..

MSP. You have to delete a certain file burried in your C: This happens randomly when updating XBMC. Just google it, or browse xbox-scene forums. I've had it happen a few times. It even managed to kill a softmodded xbox of mine.

Steve. I think your getting this mixed up with the 360's media center functionality. XBMC is an open source(I think) hack that turns a regular xbox into a media center.

No shit? I trolled the XBMC forums for days, Googled for answers, very methodically followed the installation guide, etc. It's amazing that I never heard / read anything about it.

The problem with XBMC these days is that random groups take over the development and screw things up.. I've had the same problem as MSP, and even more.

Did you grab the one off the #xbins on Efnet FTP Server? Those are the only ones I trust anymore.

Also, was yours a T3CH build?

It was a T3CH, but I grabbed it from Torrent. I doubt I'll upgrade my Xbox again...

What's the status of Xbox 360 mod?

Eh, some DVD firmware mods to play backups. But the backups need to be heavily modded themselves with files manipulated and taken out.

Nothing will ever be as fun to hack and mod as the original Xbox.
